Clicgear 3.5+ Push Cart
If for some reason you haven’t heard of Clicgear push carts, you need to get up to speed. When I think of Clicgear, I think “Cadillacs of the push cart industry.” That’s not to say there aren’t other great push carts in the game, I just believe Clicgear is that good. The anchor of the lineup, the Clicgear 3.5+, is an easy-to-use strong performer that should always be on the shortlist for push cart purchasing considerations.
Setup
Based on experience with other push carts, I dedicated a window of time where I planned on assembling my Clicgear 3.5+ before putting it in play. Much to my pleasant surprise, I opened the box and absolutely zero assembly was required. All I had to do was lift the folded cart out of the box and remove the protective plastic.
Like most foldable push carts, the key to the Clicgear 3.5+ is a matter of knowing the magic buttons (or levers) and the order of operation. When you first look at the folded up cart, it’s easy to see all of the “touch points” but you have to follow the correct order. Conveniently, the provided instructions make it an easy 1-2-3 process. Unfolding the cart and tossing your bag on is simple.
Once unfolded, the adjustable saddle system will fit just about any bag. The “brackets” fold and unfold depending on the width of the bag being used. Each “bracket” has two adjustable stretchy straps to securely hold your bag on the cart.
As sort of an aside, I find it very impressive at how compact the 3.5+ gets when folded up. The 3.5+ has a wider footprint and a substantial frame when in use, but really folds up into a clean 13″ x 15″ x 24″ package.
Built-In Storage
Storage on the Clicgear 3.5+ is strong, but there are a lot of add-on options which I’ll mention later in this section. The console has a nice three ball holder and enough room for a rangefinder and a couple of other accessories. This console is a point of pride for Clicgear. Compared to many of its competitors, you will have a hard time finding a larger hard console on the market. The console also features a band to hold your scorecard and another band for your pencil, as well as three tee holders. Overall, the console keeps important items safely and securely stored as well as organized.
There is additional storage via the net underneath the console. This is great for your water bottles (shout out Tempercraft) and any other excess items that can be safely stowed here. My only “criticism” is that I feel access to the net is in a slightly awkward spot when on the move. That said, I don’t really feel it’s a fair criticism because I don’t feel there’s a better way to do it and the net did its job just fine.
What if you want more storage for your various wares? Well, you’re in luck because Clicgear has an extensive range of add-on accessories. The options range from extra storage attachments and drink holders to attachable seats for when you play a course with no benches (like we did this past weekend). A quick browse through the Clicgear accessory page made me feel like they’ve thought of everything. Between the built-in storage and the add-on options, your storage needs are beyond covered.
On-Course Performance
First let’s address the build quality and durability of the Clicgear 3.5+. All of the components of the cart are clearly sturdy and built to last. While using the cart, it’s very evident that Clicgear used premium materials that are built to last. The frame is made out of aircraft grade aluminum, not a big deal. Aluminum is a very strong metal but also lightweight for an easier stroll around the course.
These sturdy, high-quality materials with the wide base of the Clicgear 3.5+ give the cart a great balance. I’ve used multiple carts in my past where it was a task just to keep the thing from toppling over. With the Clicgear 3.5+ my cart wasn’t going anywhere. I’ll just put it this way…I put the 3.5+ through some *stupid tests where a cart isn’t designed to go. It passed with flying colors staying upright and rolling over anything in its path. All of these traits combined for a very smooth push and is easily one of the best performing push carts I’ve had on the course.
*No push carts or courses were harmed during this testing.
Lastly, the braking system is very dependable. It takes a little getting used to at first. I initially would try to flip it from under the handle as I was coming to a stop and would slip. As I got a feel for it, pulling the brake becomes a fluid motion with bringing the cart to a complete stop. Once in place, the brake is very tight and locks the front wheel to prevent those pesky escape efforts into a nearby lake.
Final Thoughts – Clicgear 3.5+ Push Cart
As you should have realized by now, I’m a big fan of the Clicgear 3.5+ push cart. The combination of build quality and on-course performance is practically perfect. With a base price of $220, the 3.5+ is competitive in its market and easily one of the best values in its weight class.

I couldn’t tell you, I didn’t use it that way. It’s designed to be pushed, but I suppose you could pull it fine. I would imagine, based on physics, the third front wheel would just be off the ground.
