Every year it sneaks up on us, but it’s Holiday season and it’s time to buy gifts. In an effort to help you avoid the usual pitfalls of buying your golfer more gadgets they don’t want/or need, we put together our 2019 Holiday Gift Guide to help get your golfer something they may actually like!
Tempercraft
Tempercraft pretty much makes every gift guide we put together, but for good reason. I can’t speak for the rest of the guys, but Tempercraft bottles and cups are used literally every day in my house. They’re great at maintaining drink temperatures, and I swear, water just flat out tastes better out of them. That’s a scientific fact. If you want to get the customized, that’s an easy option too!

Reinland Golf Co Headcovers
Our good friends at Reinland Golf Co make great barrel-style headcovers all by hand in the Pacific Northwest. They’re a great family-ran business and I’ve always appreciated the products out of their shop. Their materials are unique and the product is well made with a high level of quality. Right now I’m on a real big kick with their limited edition Pendleton headcovers. Every year Reinland Golf Co buys a limited amount of wool from the Pendleton Mill to make a limited amount of headcovers. The colors and patterns are unique, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Dormie Workshop Yardage Book / Scorecard Cover
Dormie Workshop is one of our friends from the beginning and they make really nice stuff. Especially in leather goods. A nice accessory for your golfer would be one of their yardage book covers that can also serve as a scorecard cover. The quality and craftsmanship is superb and there are custom options as well.
Our review of this cover can be found here.
Dormie Workshop Rain Jacket
What’s this, a repeat brand in the gift guide? Yep, that’s right. Our friends, Dormie Workshop, recently worked with another Canadian brand called O8. The O8 rain jacket is a classic packable rain jacket that will protect you in the elements. This jacket folds up into a small pouch and fits nicely into the large pocket of a golf bag, backpack, suitcase, etc. I bought mine toward the end of summer and have loved it ever since.
These are so fresh they might not even be on the site yet! Rest assured they’re coming, and you might even be able to email them to ask about availability.
Scott Readman Concepts Accessories
While Scott Readman Concepts is no stranger to our site or gift guides, they’re still making the cut this year! They have everything you could possibly want to give the golfer in your life from ball marker stocking stuffers, one-of-a-kind damascus keychains, putter covers, headcovers, alignment stick covers, shoe bags, or a sick custom putter as an impressive gift. With the holidays getting close, if you want something custom, you better get those orders in!

Kentwool Socks
Now, normally I agree with you – who wants socks for a gift?! Well, if you’re getting me a fresh pair of Kentwools or two, I certainly do! I was first introduced to Kentwool socks a few years ago and ended up literally switching over to them exclusively. Made form Merino wool, Kentwool socks naturally keep your feet warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot out. Take it from me, these are the best socks in the game and arguably life changing.
You can read our review on the Kentwool SensationWool sock here. They have a special material woven into them to help with foot pain.
TRUE Linkswear TL-01
These shoes came in for a review this past year and I just set about my business like I would any other shoe review. What I didn’t expect was how much I came to love these shoes. Admittedly I’m late to the TRUE Linkswear party, but these shoes got me all in on the brand. Since reviewing these shoes, they’ve been more than just a golf shoe. I genuinely wear these a majority of the days of the week. They are extremely comfortable and look good. If I got another pair of these this holiday season, I wouldn’t be mad…

New Grips
Grips are just about the most neglected piece of golf equipment there is. Furthermore, the winter season (at least in the northern hemisphere) is the best time to replace them. Now, it’s tough to tell you which grip to go buy as a gift given how much of a personal preference the grip is, but I’ve thought of that. First, get an idea of what an average price for a set of 13 grips would cost. I’d say you’re looking at an average of about $7-8 a grip. Then get creative. You could give a gift certificate to your local store or pro shop and explain it’s for a fresh set of grips. OR you could do the classic “IOU Certificate” that is redeemable to you (the gift giver) for one set of fresh grips to be chosen by the recipient. Plus, how many “this is good for one free hug” certificates can you really give?
Here’s the latest Golf Pride grip we reviewed that impressed us.
Chippo
Chippo is a fun backyard game that can be classified as the golf version of bags/cornhole. The game is easy to travel with, setup in seconds, and share a few laughs with your buddies. I’ve had a lot of fun since introducing Chippo into my life, and have even used it as a training aid for my wedge game. Chippo’s a good way to keep boring wedge practice a little more fun and stimulating while getting some good work done.
FlightScope Mevo
While on the higher end of the gift budget, the FlightScope Mevo is a great little device for any golfer. This is a pocket-size launch monitor that provides real-time performance data to help golfers get better results out of their practice session. The Mevo is easy to use, accurate, and a great asset to helping players improve their games. Just pair it up to your phone and you’ll be off measuring shot data on the range or course. I swear by my Mevo and use it all the time to learn more about both my game and my equipment.
Our review of the FlightScope Mevo can be found here.
BIG MAX
This is sort of a two parter here. BIG MAX is a brand that we’ve grown pretty fond of here at Driving Range Heroes. They’ve been big in Europe for awhile, but they’re quickly rising in popularity in the US. If you’re looking to get a bigger item for the golfer in your life, we highly recommend BIG MAX’s waterproof Aqua Wave stand bag. Help keep your golfer’s clubs dry with a quality bag.
Waterproof bags are ideal in wet conditions for obvious reasons. Of course, it’s not uncommon to not be able to drive carts on the course in said wet conditions. Well, that brings me to our second BIG MAX holiday gift idea – the Blade IP push cart! This cart folds up into a flat and compact profile for easy storage. On the course, the push cart is sturdy and easy to navigate around the terrain.
