tasc Performance, a New Orleans based lifestyle brand renowned for designing original fabrics and comfortable apparel with sustainable fibers, is thrilled to release the MicroAir Polo Collection. Inspired by both overcoming an industry-wide reliance on chemical finishes that mimic performance and a recent lack of innovation in golf apparel, tasc took on the challenge to innovate a unique fabric technology that performs (naturally), with incomparable comfort, and is produced in a responsible way.
The MicroAir Polo Collection utilizes MicroModal fiber, known for its softness and breathability, blended with an ultra-fine micro-polyester creating a smooth, soft, and lightweight profile. “We saw a need for a lighter weight, but durable, easy to wear fabric that could separate from the skin and drape nicely, while moving moisture and drying fast. We combined nature, using MicroModal fibers from beechwood trees, and innovative spinning and fabric finishing methods to achieve a fabric that performs naturally,” said tasc Co-Founder, Todd Andrews.
Other brands use 100% synthetic fabrics treated with multiple chemical finishes to achieve performance attributes, such as moisture wicking. These basic fabrics do not breathe and the finishes can degrade through washing cycles. The consumer is then left with a basic polyester synthetic garment with no performance benefits, and the shirt ultimately becomes landfill.
Adapting MicroModal to blend with fine denier micropoly requires a highly technical spinning method that is uncommon in the industry. Perfecting the spinning process is what allows MicroAir to achieve a wearing-experience that balances comfort and performance, the natural and the technical, in a way that meets the versatile demands of the modern lifestyle, according to Andrews.
The tasc brand is distributed through multiple specialty-retail channels, destination resorts, national events, and through their flagship store in New Orleans. In recent years, tasc has made strides to become a premier brand within the golf industry. In Spring of 2018, tasc signed 3-time PGA champion Scott Stallings as a tasc athlete: “Now more than ever, I stress the importance of what’s comfortable and healthy for my body. I’ve tried hundreds of golf shirts in my career, but the overall quality and performance of MicroAir is in a league of its own. It’s the softest fabric I’ve ever felt,” said Stallings. In addition to partnering with Stallings, tasc also plays an active role on the PGA Tour and will appear at more than 14 PGA events this year.
As of June 6th, the MicroAir Polo Collection will be available in five different colors and styles. To purchase product or learn more about tasc Performance, visit www.tascperformance.com.
