Two players using Tour Edge Exotics golf clubs at the Senior Open Championship finished in the Top 3 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club, host course of the fifth and final Major championship of the 2019 PGA Tour Champions season.
A former two-time U.S. Open champion and Tour Edge Exotics staffer Tim Petrovic both finished tied for 3rd in the 33rd annual Senior Open Championship Sunday.
These are the same two players that finished 1st and 2nd in the previous Major event, the Senior Players Championship, just two weeks ago.
The former two-time U.S. Open champion played an Exotics CBX 119 hybrid to a 3rd place finish in England, shooting a 66 on Sunday to finish 3–under-par for the tournament. It was the 3rd Top 5 finish in a Major event this year for the South African, including the win at the Senior Players.
Petrovic also finished in 3rd place at the Senior Open after a 68 in the final round playing an Exotics CBX fairway wood and two
Exotics CBX Iron-Woods. He has earned three runner-up finishes and the 3rd place finish in Majors since switching to Tour Edge clubs.
Another player finished in the Top 10 of the Senior Open Championship playing two Exotics CBX Iron-Woods, giving Tour Edge clubs their 9th Top 10 finish in the five Major championships played on the 2019 PGA Tour Champions season. The nine Top 10 Major finishes include a victory, two runner-up finishes and six Top 5 finishes.
Exotics clubs earned 11 Top 10’s in Majors last season for a grand total of 20 Top 10’s in the last 10 Majors played on the PGA Tour Champions.
“Players using our equipment have performed extremely well in the Major championships and that has given us even more exposure in these events that air on network television,” said Tour Edge President and Master Club Designer David Glod. “Since we started our Champions tour program 18 months ago, we have had over 75 players play Tour Edge Exotics and our clubs have been a part of 11 wins and over 50 Top 5 finishes, 13 of which have been Top 5’s in Majors.”
After 17 events on the 2019 PGA Tour Champions season, Exotics have been in play for five victories, 18 Top 5 finishes, 28 Top 10 finishes and 61 Top 5 finishes.
