2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs Recap

Tommy’s Not So Expert 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs Recap

Well, the 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs have come to a close.  The Tour Championship at East Lake is in the books.  It brings a tear to my eye thinking that 2019 golf season is over, but thank goodness 2020 starts up like next week.  Congrats to Rory on an awesome season, an awesome win, and that $15 million in the bank (well, more like $5 million after taxes, paying his caddy, staff, etc.).

I made some picks at the start of this whole thing, and they weren’t all that great.  No shocker there.  My heart always tells me to pick Rory, but after so many letdowns this year, I had to go the easy way out with Koepka.  And he let me down.  Rory dominated him and the field all day off of the tee and on the greens.  Schauffele made a run, but still came up four shots short of Rory.  Koepka stumbled home to a T-3 finish.  While I give myself credit for saying that I wouldn’t be shocked in any way if Rors won it all, I still went with Koepka.  Thus, I am a loser.

My Matsuyama pick from the middle of the pack fared well with a jump up to T-9, but that’s about all I can say.  Rahm finished T-12, which isn’t much to write home about.  Cantlay dropped like a hot potato to a T-21.  Fleetwood finished T-16.

Not a good FedEx Cup Playoffs run for me.  But, I live to bet fight another day.  And by another day I mean heading to Vegas for Labor Day weekend to bet on some college football.  While my picks haven’t been great this year, that’s expected.  I’m no expert.  But you better believe that’s not going to stop me from making them!  Stay tuned for more picks for the 2020 season coming soon!
