PXG Essential Face Mask
With all of the craziness of Covid-19 going on in the world, many companies are changing up their operations to provide protective gear for their customers. PXG happens to be a notable one in the golf world, producing the PXG Essential Face Mask to try and help prevent the spread of Covid-19. They are donating 50% of the proceeds to Team Rubicon, “a group that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises”.
The Looks
Well, everyone (or almost everyone) is wearing masks in public these days to help stop a potential carrier of Covid-19 from spreading the virus to a higher-risk individual, because I’d like to think most of us are good people who care about the well being of others. With that, some of the masks look downright silly (which is not a reason to not wear them, if you’re asking me…).
Enter the PXG Essential Face Mask. It comes in a sleek black color with the PXG logo towards the side. Two ear loops secure the mask to your face, and it covers from your nose to your chin. In summary? It makes you look like Scorpion or Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat, and for that, I am a big fan. I might just wear it everywhere even after this whole pandemic is over.
Comfort Level
Who cares if the mask is comfortable if it looks cool, am I right? Well, good news, this mask is comfy too. Most people complain that masks hurt their face, and that’s why they should be allowed to put others at risk by not wearing one. Have no fear, the ear loops on the PXG Essential Face Masks are easy on the ears, and don’t hurt your nose. It’s made from three layers of cotton soft jersey material, so it’s nice and soft on your skin. A+ in the comfort category.
On-Streets Performance
Can I tell you PXG Essential Face Mask prevents the spread of harmful bacteria and germs better than other materials, or any other mask for that matter? Not really. And I’m not a medical professional who can give that sort of advice. It’s also not an approved CDC medical mask, but 90% of what you can buy aren’t either (save them for the medical folks).
HOWEVER, there are three layers of material in this bad boy, it’s antimicrobial to inhibit nasty smells and bacteria growth, and stays fairly dry from your humid breath. It’s machine washable, so when it does start to stink, just throw it in the wash with your dirty undies and you’re good to go. And most importantly, it stays securely on your face, without being so tight it suffocates you. There’s also a little pocket on the inside, should you wish to add an extra filter for your safety. Is it the most protective mask in the world? No, probably not, but it does stay on your face, covers your mouth and nose, has multiple layers, and is comfortable.
Final Thoughts – PXG Essential Face Mask
The PXG Essential Face Mask is super comfortable, makes me look like Sub Zero, and above all, can hopefully protect myself and any high-risk individuals from spreading germs to each other. My belief is that wearing a mask right now isn’t about “infringing upon your freedom” or “the government controlling their citizens”. Or if it is, that’s nothing to do with why I wear a mask. It’s about being considerate of others, even if you don’t agree with them. It’s about being safe and hopefully helping others. So if you’re asking me, just wear a damn mask for the time being. Let’s be honest, it’s not really an inconvenience. If wearing a mask gives me even a small, tiny possibility of maybe helping save someone’s life, then it’s a no brainer for me.
