The Official Driving Range Heroes 2020 Golf Holiday Gift Guide!
With the wild year due to COVID, golf has been hotter than ever as one of the only activities you can really do in a normal fashion. As such, many golfers have returned to the game or have just flat out become more interested. So with that said, why not get the golfer in your life the perfect gift this year that they’ll actually want? Here is our official 2020 Golf Holiday Gift Guide featuring some of our favorite products and good recommendations for any golfer.
TRUE linkswear LUX Knit & KNIT II
TRUE linkswear has continued to come out with bangers this year. My two current favorite shoes from them are the LUX Knit and the TRUE Knit II. Both shoes have a comfortable and breathable knit upper that makes it feel like you’re barely wearing shoes. However, the LUX Knit’s knit upper is actually waterproof. It’s fantastic. Like basically every other pair of TRUE linkswears I’ve owned, these two see just as much use from me off the course as they do on the course. They’re a great transition shoe and would make a wonderful gift for any golfer in your life.

Dormie Workshop
Dormie Workshop has been a staple in my bag going back quite a few years. The two main reasons are that they make really cool looking covers, but the quality and durability are exceptional. I’ve had the same set of covers in my bag for years and they look just as good as when I first got them. Not that my current Dormie Workshop headcovers need replacing, but when I saw their new Top Gun line, I knew I had to make an update. Every time I look at my bag now, I hear the Top Gun Anthem in my head and run through a series of favorite quotes. Dormie Workshop has all your favorite pilots available in multiple sizes so head over and check them out.
Oh, and if you aren’t looking for a Top Gun-themed cover, they have a lot of other classic designs and can even make pretty much any custom request happen.

Sun Mountain Colter Outerwear
As a golfer, I always love getting golf outerwear for a gift. The best apart about golf outerwear, it’s just as good OFF the course as it is on the course. Take the new Sun Mountain Colter jacket and vest for instance. While I got these originally for golf, the Colter jacket has become my go-to jacket for the cooler Fall weather and likely into the early stages if Winter. It’s extremely comfortable, warm, and just a great all-purpose option for me. Not only that, the color options are great and it just looks cool.

Tempercraft
These guys make the list literally every single time we make a gift guide, and will continue to do so as long as they exist, or as long as we’re still doing this. My household uses Tempercraft bottles every day, but this holiday season, Tempercraft has added some new products to the mix that are perfect for the current environment.
With so many bars and restaurants adapting to restrictions from Coronavirus, Tempercraft has the perfect options for “alcohol-to-go” purchases. Whether it’s a growler fill from your favorite local spot, a nice rare can of craft beer you want to keep cold, or a rocks tumbler for your favorite bourbon or cocktail, Tempercraft can do it. Their new growlers, can coolers, and rocks tumblers utilize the same Isothermic Vacuum-Insulated construction we’ve seen in their classic bottles. These high-quality vessels will keep your drinks cooler for longer and can also be customized. Don’t forget the flask to possibly slip into your golf bag too…
All four of these products have been a great addition for me to better support my local establishment, the Beer Cellar, this season. If you’re in the Chicago suburbs, you can check them out in Glen Ellyn and in Geneva. If you’re not, your local spot needs your support more than ever and these new Tempercraft products will be perfect to do that with!

Beer Cellar Gift Card
Speaking of Beer Cellar… Ok, admittedly this one is for our local Chicagoland readers, but we have a strong following there so it’s worth it. the Beer Cellar currently has two locations – one in Glen Ellyn and the other in Geneva. With a killer assortment of craft beer, spirits, and plenty of other fine wares, a nice gift card will more than do the trick for a small holiday gift.
You can find the Glen Ellyn location here and the Geneva location here.
Kentwool
I’m a massive Kentwool socks fan. Quite a few years ago, I literally threw out every pair of socks I own and converted to only wearing Kentwool. Kentwool uses a merino wool that naturally regulates temperatures making them comfortable in any conditions. I don’t really know what to say other than these socks are so comfortable, especially for golf, and I love them so much. Kentwool also released new limited edition colors for the 2020 Fall/Winter season, but if you want more traditional colors, those are available too. Regardless, Kentwool is another staple that makes my wish list every year.

Revo Sunglasses
I’ve reviewed a few pairs of Revo sunglasses on this site since we launched it, but my most recent review of the Revo Prosper reminded me how much I really enjoy Revo’s products. They have been a leader in the sunglasses space for years…in fact, quite literally in space. Revo regularly partners with NASA for new and classic designs. While not necessarily the first brand you think of for on-course sunglasses, Revo makes many performance models that are excellent on the golf course and transfer nicely to many other applications in life. They also have many great lens options and the lens quality is incredible.

Scott Readman Concepts
Another brand that will always be a staple in our gift guides, Scott Readman Concepts. These guys are based out of Bristol, England and specialized in premium headcovers, accessories, putters, and sometimes wedges. If you take a look on their website, they offer many great unique options, but also specialize in custom (or bespoke as they prefer) options in any product they make. I swear by their putters and putter covers and you’ll rarely see me without one in my bag. If you can’t decide on a particular item, you can also pick up a gift voucher from their site.

BIG MAX Push Carts
2020 has seen a massive rise in the popularity of push carts with the revival of walking golf. Like most brands, BIG MAX hasn’t been able to keep their carts in stock! Lightweight materials, intuitive folding designs, and strong performance have made BIG MAX a regular in my push cart rotation (yes, I have a rotation, I’m a golf nerd). They offer multiple sizes and models (including Junior), so if the golfer in your life has been looking to add a push cart this season, what better time than now?

Training Aids!
I’m genuinely not a big training aid guy, but there have been two this year that have legitimately caught my eye.

The Back 2 Basics Pro Path putting mirror is really a great one-stop shop for your putting practice needs. Whether it’s making sure your alignment is right or that you you have a good path to your stroke, the Pro Path has you covered. The Swing Plate
This is definitely one for the real golf nerd you need a gift for, but it will also help them with their game. Sick of watching your husband/dad/brother/son/uncle standing in the middle of the room wherever you go making shadow swings to work on their technique? (Note: I didn’t mention any ladies there…because I can honestly say I’ve never seen women be “the shadow swing person” in the room and I can’t thank them enough for that.) Get them the Swing Plate – designed to be used with a pair of alignment sticks on the range to help practice many different swing techniques and concepts. If you want to help the golfer in your life fix their swing or practice better, the Swing Plate is a simple and efficient versatile training device that can help any golfer.
The Swing Plate is offered through multiple distributors globally which you can find here.
