Perfect Practice Laser Putting Glasses
Talk about a brand bursting on the scene over the past 12 months… Perfect Practice took the internet by storm over Covid quarantine with one of the best pieces of internet marketing in history a hit training aid, the Perfect Practice Putting mat. From Insta influencers to Tour pros, you just couldn’t get away from it! Then they teamed up with putting guru Matt Killen to bring golfers the RainDrop retractable putting string. Adding to their portfolio of putting practice aids, we have now been introduced to the Perfect Practice Laser Putting Glasses! Are these glasses some sort of Tin Cup-esque golf doo-dad, or a legitimately helpful training aid?
Out of the Box
Following your purchase of the Perfect Practice Laser Putting Glasses, you’ll receive a hard-shell glasses case that contains everything you need. One thing I will say is that the case is really just a means to an end for product packaging. While it has a clip so you can attach it to your golf bag, the case is fairly cheap and I personally wouldn’t count on it for more than packaging.
Inside the case, you’ll find the laser frames, a USB cable, and a wall charger. The glasses will be about half charged so you can naturally start playing with the laser around the house immediately, because let’s be honest…we all like playing with a laser pointer, right? OR you can throw them on and get in a quick practice session right away. My pair didn’t come with any instructions for use or drills, but you can find some practice instruction for them here. Perfect Practice also provides an accompanying video at that link.
Performance
Before setting out to use the Perfect Practice Laser Putting Glasses, I would strongly encourage clicking the link above for how to use them. Without that insight, you may feel slightly misguided out there. For me, that made a huge difference. The biggest gain for me was how much the laser will show your head movement. By setting the laser in one spot and watching how much it moves will blow your mind. So naturally, a great drill is to set the laser where you want it and try not to move it. Easier said than done!
Another drill Perfect Practice suggests focusing on is to make sure your eyes are right over the ball. I’m still working on this one as I feel like I can move the laser via the adjustability on the frames to accommodate what feels comfortable, not what feels correct. I want to be clear, that doesn’t mean this is problematic. If you can make sure you get the laser set in place with the correct stance and alignment, it will absolutely help get your eyes setup in the correct place.
Final Thoughts – Prefect Practice Laser Putting Glasses
Ok, so here’s where I land on the Perfect Practice Laser Putting Glasses. Will you look a little like Roy McAvoy in his Winnebago wearing these on the practice green? Yeah, a little bit. There’s no way around that. You’ll likely get a few looks out there while rolling putts. Do you care? Of course not, because you’re worried about getting better at your putting, not what others think. Once you get past that, the general concept is legit. You’ll really see how you’re addressing the ball, how you’re lining up your shots, and how much your head’s moving around throughout the putting stroke. Head movement was the biggest win for me. I couldn’t believe how much my head was moving around, and I always thought I kept it pretty quiet!
Overall, yeah, the Laser Putting Glasses are different than most things you’re going to see out there. That doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a shot. If you’re looking to quiet down your body in your putting and dial in your setup, check them out.
Looking forward to seeing some reviews by everyday golfers on these Lazer glasses..
That’s who we are, we’re regular golfers!
Does the lazer show up in daylight
I had to reach out to my friend who took my glasses to use, and he says you can see it in the grass in the daylight.
