Longball 2018 Spring Summer Clothing
Longball is a newer golf apparel brand out of northwestern Canada that caught my attention a couple of years ago. What I love about the Longball brand is its exceptional blend of quality performance golf apparel and its refreshing feel. The Longball 2018 Spring Summer lineup maintains this legacy with new threads that work both on and off the course.
First Impressions
Longball has been around since 2016 and has always had a laid back “Pacific Northwest” vibe to it. Over the past two years of rolling out new looks, Longball has consistently stuck with a color palate consisting of light blues, red, purple, white, grey, and black. With each new season, these signature colors still look fresh across their products. The Longball 2018 Spring Summer line is no exception. Not quite looking to wear bold blues and purples? Longball also provides more basic options for those looking to keep it simple. That said, don’t miss out on gems like the Sprawl belt or any of their sick hats. Be brave, show a little flair with a bold accessory.
Comfort Level
The first time I reviewed a Longball lineup, I mentioned that they have a great fit. Longball calls it “100% Canadian athletic sizing.” I’m still not sure what that means, but I feel like it’s a perfect fit for me. I would tell you the Longball 2018 Spring Summer line falls somewhere between modern “fitted” (aka Euro size) and “regular.” The shirts have a taper but it’s not terribly dramatic so if you’re not exactly Paul Casey, you still feel comfortable. The pants have enough room to fit my hockey thighs and still give me plenty of movement throughout the swing. Longball’s clothes are comfortable and mobile while still maintaining a tastefully contemporary sense of style. For a guy like me, that’s a big deal!
On-Course Performance
Let’s be honest here, I’m not exactly a small guy but I’m not a giant either. The end result is often clothes that are either too restrictive or so loose I get all tangled up in them. The Longball 2018 Spring Summer line hits that perfect sweet spot. With a correct fit, I have perfect mobility and my clothes aren’t a distraction. It may sound silly, but that’s the mark of perfect golf clothing. You have enough on your mind playing golf. Being distracted by your clothes annoying you is the last thing you need.
Additionally, Longball uses “a custom performance fabric with the perfect blend of Bamboo Charcoal, making it naturally anti-bacterial and odor eliminating.” I’m not an expert in textiles, but I can tell you that the Longball gear breathes very well and is just as comfortable at the end of the round as it was at the start. Just another reason why Longball continues to be a mainstay in my day-to-day wardrobe.
Final Thoughts
The Longball 2018 Spring Summer collection lives up to the high standard I’ve grown to expect from them over the years. Between the overall comfort and the exceptional quality of the clothes, Longball is about as good as it gets. Longball has remained a constant for me since I was introduced to the brand in 2016 and they haven’t let me down yet.
