Craftsman Golf Headcovers
Whether you’re looking for a fairly simple headcover design, or something more custom, Craftsman Golf has you covered (see what I did there?). They have plenty of styles and options to fit any golfer’s needs, to help add some flair, and customization to your bag. Craftsman is a direct-to-consumer company making them an affordable option for any type of cover you may be in the market for.
The Looks
My first thought when I opened up my Craftsman Golf headcover was “man, the stitching looks top notch on this thing.” The attention to detail in the design of our DRH logo was fantastic, and most importantly, clear and crisp.
The cover itself looks high quality, and came out exactly how I’d hoped it to when designing it. The shape is perfect and symmetrical, the stripes are clean and straight, and the cover just flat out looks good. While it is fairly large for a fairway wood cover, it’s something I’m willing to overlook since the cover came out so clean.
Design Quality
Craftsman Golf makes a high quality cover at an affordable price, PERIOD. These covers are top notch and can compete with any other custom cover maker in the game. The leather material used feels like real, quality leather, and the cover has held up extremely well thus far. Usually you wouldn’t expect a product shipping to you directly from China to be very high quality, but the Craftsman covers do not disappoint. Everything from the feel of the leather, the lines in the stitching, and the custom design stitching all scream high quality, expensive head cover without the price tag you’d expect to come with it.
The liner of the cover is made with a soft, velvet-y feeling material. It’s super soft, and yet again, just feels like a quality material you’d expect from a much more expensive cover. Most importantly, both the quality of the outside of the cover, mixed with the soft liner, just make you feel confident that you’re club head is going to be protected. After all, that’s the point of a head cover, right?
On-Course Performance
The look and feel of Craftsman Golf headcovers make you feel like they’ll do a great job protecting your clubs. On the course, they do exactly that. While the fairway wood cover is larger than what you’d typically see for a fairway metal, it doesn’t affect how secure your cover feels on your club. The elastic “scrunchie,” if you will, on the underside of the cover keeps it nice and secure on your club. I have not had a single issue of the cover falling off of the club while in a cart, whether it be fully or partially coming off. Again, this is the purpose of a headcover, so it’s doing its job well.
The big upside to the larger size of the cover, is that while it’s super secure when on your club, it slides on and off extremely easily. A light pull from the top slides the cover off nice and easy, and a little tug on the bottom slides it right back into place. While this may seem trivial to some, if you’ve had a cover that’s a pain to get on and off, many times you’ll just leave it in the basket in the back of your golf cart. It’s not fun to deal with, and Craftsman Golf covers make removing and replacing your head covers a breeze.
Final Thoughts
The bottom line with Craftsman Golf headcovers is this: they are high quality covers, that look great, do their job well, and come at a great price point. While the prices are going to vary based on what you are buying, you’re more than likely spending less on a full set of Craftsmans than you would on a single cover from some other high-end cover manufacturers. At the end of the day, whether you’re looking for a more simplistic design, or something completely custom, you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t check out Craftsman Golf headcovers.
