Carlsbad, California. (April 3, 2023) Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, was honored to be the #1 driver shaft on the LPGA Tour last week. Including a winner on the LPGA Tour, new Women’s Amateur champion and the #1 ranked player, Fujikura featured in the bag of many of the top players on the LPGA Tour at the weekend.
At the DIO Implant Open at Palos Verdes Golf Club, Fujikura dominated the field once again, taking the #1 spot in the driver shaft count. A total of 36.1% of the field used a Fujikura driver shaft during the week in California. This included the eventual winner of the event, who captured her first ever LPGA Tour victory using a VENTUS Blue TR 6-S shaft in only her fifth start of the LPGA Tour.
During the event in California, the #1 LPGA ranked player also added Fujikura to the bag, after frequent driver testing prior to the event. After testing multiple shaft profiles, the two-time Major winner settled on the Speeder NX 50 Green in her driver shaft, putting it straight into play at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
At the Women’s Amateur Championship at Augusta National, it was another driver shaft win for Fujikura and VENTUS. The eventual winner in Georgia used VENTUS Red in her driver and wood shafts on her way to claiming the Women’s Amateur Champion title.
With the introduction of a Fujikura driver shaft to the bag of the 19-time LPGA Tour champion, both the current male and female World Number One players are now using Fujikura driver shafts – highlighting Fujikura’s impressive success in engineering the world’s best performance golf shafts.
Over on the PGA Tour at the Valero Texas Open, Fujikura claimed another #1 spot in the driver, wood and hybrid shaft count. A total of 37.0% of the field used a Fujikura driver shaft during the week, with another 33.0% of players using a Fujikura wood shaft and 26% using a Fujikura hybrid shaft.
