TRUE linkswear OG Cush Golf Shoe Review

TRUE linkswear OG Cush Golf Shoe

Finding a golf shoe that seamlessly blends comfort and performance can be a challenge for even the most seasoned golfer. TRUE Linkswear has been a leader in bridging this gap since their very beginning. The new TRUE Linkswear OG Cush is a zero-drop golf shoe inspired by the brand’s original shoe and designed to provide exceptional comfort during long rounds on the course while maintaining the stability and feel needed for a strong golf game. Players seeking a barefoot feel in a golf shoe that transitions from the street to course flawlessly will love this shoe.

Looks 1

The Looks

The TRUE Linkswear OG Cush has a minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes function over flashy design elements. That doesn’t mean there aren’t vibrant options if that’s your style. The shoe comes in a variety of color combinations, including classic black and white hearkening back to the original, a stylish white and navy combination, and the more adventurous grey and yellow option pictured in this review. Regardless of your preference, the OG Cush offers a clean and versatile look that transitions well from the course to a casual wear.

The upper is constructed from a breathable knit material that provides a sock-like fit and a comfortable feel throughout the round. The knit is overlaid with strategically placed TPU welds for added structure and durability, ensuring the shoe can withstand the rigors of the course without sacrificing flexibility.

Comfort 4

Comfort Level

Comfort is paramount for the TRUE Linkswear OG Cush. The shoe features a zero-drop construction, meaning the heel and forefoot sit at the same height. This design philosophy promotes a more natural foot position and can help reduce stress on the joints and lower back, particularly during the long walks of a round of golf or two. If you’re someone that wants a little more support and padding in your soles and arches, this “barefoot” feel may not be for you. It’s also super lightweight so you don’t feel like you’re dragging your feet by the turn.

This midsole provides ample shock absorption without sacrificing responsiveness. This ensures a comfortable feel throughout your swing and smooth transitions during your walk. The shoe also boasts a wide toe box that allows your toes to splay naturally, promoting better balance and stability.

Another key comfort feature is the new comfort tongue opening and heel padding system. The tongue opening is designed to prevent irritation and pressure points on the top of the foot. An improved plush heel padding provides a secure and comfortable fit. Personally, I feel this is a major upgrade that I look forward to seeing in future TRUE linkswear models.

On-Course Performance

While comfort is a major selling point of the TRUE Linkswear OG Cush, it doesn’t come at the expense of performance. The shoe’s minimalist design and zero-drop construction allow for a more natural feel for the terrain. A more “natural” feeling is very real which promotes a stronger connection to the ground and a more balanced swing. I can’t express enough how direct the feedback and control through your feet is. Even in the worst lies with terrible stances, I felt I could establish a strong foundation. Of course, that doesn’t mean I executed a great shot from an acrobatic stance, but that’s not the shoe’s fault!

The OG Cush also features a tread system that provides exceptional traction on a variety of surfaces. When you look at the sole, you might be surprised to see that the tread is entirely made up of little “Ts”. I promise you that this pattern provides plenty of grip in respect to spikeless shoe standards. The tread pattern is strategically designed to offer good grip without sacrificing flexibility, allowing for a smooth and natural walking motion. It also transitions nicely/comfortably to non-golf surfaces after your round.

Final Thoughts – TRUE linkswear OG Cush Golf Shoe

The TRUE Linkswear OG Cush is a great option for golfers who prefer a more natural connection to the course. Through their feet, that is. Zero-drop construction, a cushioned midsole, and the wide toe box provide exceptional comfort for a shoe of this style. I will say that if you prefer a heavily padded “walking on clouds” shoe, you may be more interested in the LUX lineup of shoes.

TRUE linkswear’s signature minimalist aesthetic combined with the OG Cush’s clean lines and multiple color options offer a stylish and versatile look. Overall, the TRUE Linkswear OG Cush is a well-rounded golf shoe that delivers on its promise of comfort and performance.
