Tour Edge Exotics E725 Fairway Wood Review

Tour Edge Exotics E725 Fairway Wood

Just when you think a golf club really can’t get much better, Tour Edge goes and makes the Exotics E725 fairway wood. Like the E725 driver, the Tour Edge Exotics E725 fairway wood is their “highest ever Moment of Inertia (MOI) fairway metal yet”. Engineered for maximum forgiveness, effortless launch, and extraordinary distance, this club really impresses. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just looking for some help in a fairway wood, the E725 is definitely worth your attention.

Looks 4

The Looks

I think the only Tour Edge Exotics club that looks better than this one is the C725 fairway wood. To be fair, that’s mostly because I have a preference for a compact head at address whenever possible. Its slightly rounded head shape strikes a perfect balance between a compact and forgiving design. The medium-depth face provides a classic look at address, while the matte carbon fiber crown gives the club a cleaner look and reduces weight in the crown. This strategic weight redistribution allows Tour Edge to position mass in optimal locations, resulting in increased stability and forgiveness. While the C725 may be preferred by golfers who favor a more compact head, the E725 offers a strong alternative for players seeking a more confidence-inspiring appearance.

The sole of the club features a pretty sleek aesthetic. Key features include the Ryzersole, which lowers the center of gravity for higher launch and optimal spin, and the Power Channel, which enhances face flex for increased ball speed, spin control, and forgiveness on off-center hits. And of course there’s the sole weight which further contributes to the club’s easy launch and forgiveness.

Feel 5

How Does it Feel?

Tour Edge claims the E725 is their highest MOI fairway wood…ever, and it feels every bit of it. Its exceptional stability is noticeable throughout the swing, thanks to its well-balanced design and 360º Ridgeback Technology. Swapping in a heavier sole weight could further enhance this stability. At impact, there’s a nice combination of jump from the Power Channel and 3D Diamond Face, and rigidity from the 360º Ridgeback Technology. 3D Diamond Face provides ball speed by way of the diamond shapes behind the face acting as mini trampolines when striking the golf ball. It also makes the sweet spot larger and the edges faster for more help on mishits. 360º Ridgeback makes the club more responsive and gives it a tighter feel at impact.

How Does it Sound?

Despite its maraging steel face, the Tour Edge Exotics E725 fairway wood produces a confident “cracking” tone reminiscent of a wooden baseball bat. The carbon fiber crown likely plays a crucial role in shaping this unique sound. As you move away from the generous sweet spot, the sound may exhibit a slightly more metallic character, but the transition is subtle. The E725 delivers a more open and resonant sound compared to the C725 fairway wood’s tighter, more compact tone. There’s also “finned internal ribbing” to help manage the vibration inside the club head. This influence essentially makes the sound (and feel) much better. As Tour Edge says, it’s “top shelf”.

I first want to point out that I tested the Tour Edge Exotics E725 fairway wood with a Denali Blue shaft based on their Speed Testing suggestions. While I had nice and tight dispersion, my launch and spin were a little higher than I’d like out of a 3 wood. That said, the easy launch and effortless control were so amazingly impressive that I’m currently exploring more optimal shaft options as I type this to get the flight and spin I like in a 3 wood.

Ok, now that we’re done with disclaimers… I couldn’t agree more with Tour Edge’s claims of easy launch and extreme forgiveness. High launching bombs with tight dispersion was incredibly automatic for me (and good pal, Kris McEwen). While my numbers were perfectly acceptable, I found that this setup could get a little floaty in different winds. Sure, wind at my back could result in a 300+ yard monster shot, but I want to get to a slightly more piercing flight without losing that effortless launch and control. I think I can get there and will have an absolute weapon of a 3 wood on my hands when I do. Especially when I’m at full speed and can really push the E275’s technology.

Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Exotics E725 Fairway Wood

If there’s one thing Tour Edge knows how to do, it’s deliver an incredible fairway metal. They’ve been doing it for years decades! But there’s something special with this Exotics E725 fairway wood. It’s just really good. Like, really, really good. Packed with impressive functional technology that actually delivers on its promises, the on-course performance will impress golfers of all skill levels. While I still have to dial in my launch and spin just a bit, the club’s forgiveness, distance, and feel are truly exceptional. The automatic and consistent performance of the Tour Edge Exotics E725 fairway wood can’t be ignored and it would be a disservice to my golf game to not explore this further. And explore it I shall!
