2025 Cobra King Wedge Release

Cobra Golf Introduces New King and King X Wedges

Carlsbad, Calif. – COBRA® Golf, a leader in golf club innovation, today introduced the new KING wedges featuring MIM (Metal Injection Molding) construction, multiple new grinds, Flight Window TechnologyProgressive Spin Technology, and a new Speed Notch that’s 67% larger than in prior models.

Every new COBRA KING Wedge is built using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology, which allows for exceptionally precise manufacturing, offering approximately 50% tighter tolerances than traditional cast wedges. During the MIM process, each KING Wedge is heat treated to nearly 1400 °C (2500 °F), leading to a tighter grain structure for a softer feel and enhanced precision.

In addition, the new KING Wedges feature F.W.T (Flight Window Technology), which positions the CG optimally for each loft (low in 48-52°, mid in 54-56°, high in 58-60°), producing more penetrating ball flights with maximum spin for enhanced accuracy on scoring shots. Progressive Spin Technology features narrow deep grooves in the lower lofted wedges and wide, shallow grooves in the higher lofted models to optimize spin and control.

“Achieving optimum spin and trajectory control on wedge shots is key to scoring,” said Chad DeHart, Sr. Product Line Manager at Cobra Golf. “MIM technology helps us produce wedges with tighter tolerances for exceptional consistency while F.W.T. allows for optimal CG location throughout the full range of lofts. Together the two technologies, with the addition of the new grind options, provide golfers the ultimate versatility in our most advanced wedges to date.”

To fit the full range of players, four sole grinds are available, including DROP (D), WIDELOW (W), VERSATILE (V), and TOUR (T). In addition, the new KING wedges feature a redesigned Cobra Speed Notch in the sole that is 67% larger, ensuring better turf interaction through the ground for cleaner contact and more spin.

Grind details:

DROP (D) grind: A medium width sole with a high bounce and minimal trailing edge relief. Great for golfers with steeper angles of attack who play in softer turf conditions. Available in 52-, 54-, 56-, 58-, and 60-degree lofts.

WIDELOW (W) grind: A wide, low bounce sole that is resistant to digging and is optimal in soft bunkers and soft turf conditions. Available in 56-, 58-, and 60-degree lofts.

VERSATILE (V) grind: An excellent all-around grind for medium to firm course conditions, featuring toe, heel and trailing edge relief. Available in 48-, 50-, 52-, 56-, 58-, 60-lofts.

TOUR (T) grind: Designed in collaboration with our Tour staff, the “T” features maximum heel and toe relief yielding the most versatility. Developed for golfers with ultimate control seeking unparalleled versatility. Available in 58-, and 60-degree lofts.

The KING wedges are available in Satin Chrome ($169 each), Black QPQ ($169 each), and RAW (custom only) finishes ($189 each) and come standard with True Temper DG Tour Issue Spinner steel shafts and Lamkin Crossline grips.

The new KING-X Wedge ($169 each) features a forgiving, cavity back design with a progressive teardrop grind for game improving versatility from a wide variety of lies. Like the standard KING model, the KING-X wedges are manufactured with MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology for exceptionally tight tolerances and feature a strategically placed TPU insert for enhanced feel at impact. To further improve forgiveness, a deep undercut design allows 20g of weight to be redistributed to the perimeter of the clubhead, making the KING-X more stable on off-center hits.

The KING-X Wedges come standard with a choice of True Temper Vector steel shaft or KBS PGI graphite shaft and Lamkin Crossline grips. Available lofts include 48-, 50-, 52-, 56-, 58, and 60-degrees.

Both the new KING and KING-X Wedges will be available at retail and on cobragolf.com on March 6, 2025. For more information visit www.cobragolf.com.
