Evnroll Zero Z1cs Putter
The Evnroll Zero Z1cs represents a refreshing departure from the trend of eye-catching, unconventional putter designs that dominate today’s market. While competitors chase attention with bold aesthetics, this center-shafted mallet takes a more refined approach, letting its performance do the talking through a clean matte black finish with minimal branding. At its core is Evnroll’s zero torque technology, which positions the shaft directly in line with the clubhead’s center of gravity to virtually eliminate face rotation throughout the stroke. Combined with their proven SweetFace grooved technology and precision-milled aluminum construction with tungsten weighting, the Z1cs promises consistent roll and distance control across the entire face.
The Looks
The Envroll Zero Z1cs exists in a world of really visually unique, new, wild looking putters. Competitors have designed some out there stuff! This one will go for a more subtle and conventional style, and to me that makes it a bit of an outlier. The putter comes in a matte black finish with white accent and alignment lines. It’s going to draw attention more by the putts it helps you make rather than flashy visuals.
From address, you get a more traditional mallet footprint, with some wings in the back, and a high contrast dot for alignment. It’s simple and straightforward. To my eye, I do like the center shaft more than the offset ERZ ZERO, but everything here is so subjective!
How Does it Feel?
The Envroll Zero Z1cs has a more solid feel than most. I’ve had a good amount of trial rounds with zero torque putters, and I’ve had had plenty of battles with them in the feel department. For many others, you have to putt aggressively, as they’re very soft off of the face. I may attribute that to the fact that Evnroll does not use any inserts, but instead their SweetFace grooves. Here, I have no worries about having to speed my stroke or jab, and I detect a nice, compressing feel. The extra weight forward in the head of the FaceForward design makes the face feel nice and stable in addition to the stability from the zero torque design.
How Does it Sound?
I’ll admit, I’m not a “sound” player. Sure, I love hitting monster drives with my old Nike Sasquatch to annoy everyone at the range, and I had the old PING putters that made PING sound too. Normal putts here give off a satisfying click. You can hear and feel solid contact, almost as all the energy of the Envroll Zero Z1cs is offloading into the ball, giving it a nice, confident roll. Should you miss the SweetFace, however, the aluminum body with a big hole in it can take on a little bit of a metal “ting”. Fortunately, the zero torque, high-MOI design makes it easy to find the center of the face.
On-Course Performance
This is a putter I clicked with immediately. On my first round with the Envroll Zero Z1cs, I was sinking everything.
It really shines on lag putts. Longer putting strokes mean more ways to go wrong, but not so much here. I’ve tested putts of various lengths and found that even when striking all over the face, I get remarkably consistent even rolling distance. (Pun intended.) That’s the real highlight of this putter. Then when you get its momentum going, it totally destroys torque and makes it effortless.
For me, shorter putts took a second to dial in. Yes, there’s great alignment features, but after playing with a toe hang mallet for ten plus years, there’s an adjustment. I’ve found that letting this putter swing its natural swing is best. Getting on track and allowing the face to stay square the whole way lets you approach the short ones confidently.
One last thing that I like, is that you can use the underside of the putter to pick up your ball too. Only problem is that your ball will mainly be in the cup…
Final Thoughts – Evnroll Zero Z1cs Putter
The Envroll Zero Z1cs delivers everything you’d expect from a high-end modern mallet without resorting to gimmicks or over-the-top design. Its zero torque setup and SweetFace grooves combine to create one of the most stable, consistent rolls I’ve experienced. Especially on long putts! While it may take a little time to adjust if you’re coming from a toe-hang putter, the payoff is worth it once you sync with its natural, square-to-square motion.
In a market filled with loud shapes and louder claims, the Z1cs stands out by doing the opposite. It simply performs. If you want a putter that makes the stroke feel effortless and keeps the ball rolling true, this one deserves a serious look.
