Tour Edge Exotics LS Fairway Wood Review

Tour Edge Exotics LS Fairway Wood

The Tour Edge Exotics LS fairway wood is a technically advanced club designed to neutralize excessive spin. Its multi-material construction integrates a 360° Titanium Ridgeback frame for structural stability with a RyzerSole that drives the center of gravity low and forward. By utilizing Pyramid Face Technology, the club maintains ball speeds on off-center strikes to produce a penetrating trajectory. This model is built for the golfer who prefers a compact profile and requires the versatility to shape shots both off the tee and on long approaches into par 5s.

Tour-Inspired Looks

At address, the Tour Edge Exotics LS presents a refined profile that caters to the preferences of better players, but should will impress pretty much anyone. The shape looks absolutely perfect behind the ball. The head is noticeably more compact and features a slightly deeper face with a classic pear shape that sits square. This year, Tour Edge has increased the use of carbon fiber in the crown, which provides a clean and modern aesthetic while also more effectively distributing weight throughout the head. The finish is a premium matte carbon crown that transitions into a black topline and face to reduce glare in bright conditions.

When you flip the club over, the engineering becomes much more visible. The 90g tungsten RyzerSole is a prominent feature that gives the clubhead a low, forward CG. Adjacent to the sole plate, the Flight Tuning System ports contain swapable weights to influence your launch and spin. For the golfer who values a traditional look, the LS manages to pack a significant amount of technology into a footprint that remains uncluttered and classic.

Feel 5

Firm, Responsive Feedback

The feel of the Tour Edge Exotics LS is primarily defined by the interaction between the 360° Titanium Ridgeback frame and the Pyramid Face Technology. Ridgeback provides a rigid sensation that makes the entire head feel solid and responsive at impact. This is complemented by the Pyramid Face, which creates a specific “jump”, yet firm feel. Even on off-center strikes, the variable thickness of the pyramids smooths out the harshness you would typically expect from a miss.

Weight distribution also plays a significant role in the overall “sensation” of the club. With the 90g tungsten RyzerSole, the head has a naturally forward center of gravity that promotes a strong, penetrating flight. However, with the 15g weight moved to the rear position, the club feels impressively stable and balanced. Let me tell ya, that level of stability is rare for a low-spin fairway wood. Overall, the sensation of a cleanly picked ball off the turf is exceptionally satisfying, providing the heavy and powerful feedback that better players demand.

The Sophisticated Sound of the Exotics LS Fairway Wood

I really love the sound of the Tour Edge Exotics LS fairway wood. That cleanly picked ball off the turf that I referenced above is absolutely ::chef’s kiss:: perfection. It’s both rewarding and precise. Most of the face produces a tight, firm, and muted “tick” that reflects the structural integrity of the 360° Titanium Ridgeback frame and carbon fiber crown. It sounds like a precision instrument rather than a hollow metal wood.

While extreme misses toward the toe or heel lose a bit of pop, the Pyramid Face Technology ensures the “sound pleasantries” remains generous across a wide area. The tone can get a touch heavier if you take a bit too much turf, but clean passes through the grass produce a smooth, satisfying “whisp.” It’s a sophisticated sound profile that gives you immediate, honest feedback on the quality of your strike.

On-Course Performance: Speed Meets Workability

I think it’s important to first point out that the Tour Edge Exotics LS is designed for better players to allow them manipulate the ball and hit a wide range of controlled fairway wood shots. It also happens to be pretty fast and moderately forgiving for a fairway wood of this caliber.

The Flight Tuning System is where the performance changed significantly for me. With the 15g weight in the front, this club is a genuine spin killer. It produces a low, piercing flight that is perfect for cutting through the wind, but I had difficulty being consistent with the forward CG. Though it produced killer speeds, I’m just not good enough to play my 3 wood with this CG position and need the stability and launch of the heavy weight in the rear position.

When I moved the heavy weight to the back, the club was much easier to manage. The flight remained powerful/piercing, but the ball got into the air with less effort. As mentioned in the Feel section, this rear weight position makes the club feel more stable and balanced. This helped me tighten my dispersion and stay more consistent without losing the ability to shape or flight my shots when needed. I felt like I could get most of the LS performance benefits in a more forgiving and playable configuration for my game.

Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Exotics LS Fairway Wood

The Tour Edge Exotics LS is built to generate ball speed and manage spin, but it does so with a level of stability you don’t typically expect from a compact design. Between the internal Ridgeback frame and the heavy RyzerSole, the club stays balanced through the strike and maintains a powerful, piercing flight.

While the forward weight setting is there for those who need to kill every last RPM of spin, moving that 15g weight to the back provides an impressive combination of low-spin performance and easy launch off the deck. It delivers a fast, firm-feeling strike with the workability better players want and the stability more players need.
