Setting it up is a simple affair alongside the user manual and just getting familiar with the controls. The device relies on a long-life Li-ion rechargeable battery if you prefer that over having to replace a battery. I can see the argument for either way. I prefer not having to track down those weird little batteries, or remembering to replace the extra in my valuables pouch.

The 6x magnification gives a crisp view of the green, and the slope technology handles elevation changes smoothly without complicating things. Having the built-in magnet to stick it to a push cart frame or riding cart strut is a great convenience. Just don’t forget on the side of your cart after the round! (I’ve seen it a million times…) The 1.69 inch external display is also a handy addition for a quick glance at your yardage after shooting it. Personally, I thought this was a little silly at fist, but I found myself going to it regularly the more I used the rangefinder. I much prefer this convenience over shooting a distance and then checking a phone app to see what distance it measured.
