14 worst lies in golf

The 14 Weirdest Lies in Golf History?

So recently, Golf Digest posted the “14 Weirdest Lies in Golf History” here.  It outlines some of the wackiest spots that guys on Tour have had to hit from.  No surprise, Phil made this list because he can’t hit a fairway (boom, roasted).

Some of my favorites on this list?  Number one for me has to be Shane Lowry hitting out of a pile of trash on the Euro Tour.  How this trash heap made it on a professional golf course, I don’t know.  But it’s hilarious.

And how can we forget Sergio climbing and hitting from a tree at Bay Hill!  I’ve tried that “backward” shot off of the fairway and can’t hit it clean.  This guy does it standing in a damn tree and gets it back in the fairway.

Last but not least, Jason Kokrak at the 2016 Wells Fargo.  He didn’t just hit this thing from the hospitality patio like others.  No, no.  He hit it from IN the grandstands, UNDER the overhangs.  Not only that, he hit it to inside of 10 feet.  Just incredible.

I have to admit, in all of my years in golf (a whole like 8 maybe), I haven’t had a really “crazy” lie.  Sure, I’ve sprayed a few into the houses like Rory, but hey, it’s white staked and I can’t hit from there.  And I sure as heck aren’t going to wander into a parking lot to find my ball smashed through someone’s window.  The worst for me?  Probably trying one of those Woody Austin “out of the water” shots.  It didn’t go well.  I ended up covered in mud, soaking wet.

What’s the worst lie you’ve ever had during a round?   Let us know in the comments below!
