(RANCHO CUCAMONGA) – Nexbelt, The Belt With No Holes, captured a pair Runner-Up Finishes on the PGA TOUR this past weekend as Chris Stroud finished 2nd at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic and Scott Parel finished 2nd at the Rapiscan Systems Classic held at Fallen Oak CC in Biloxi, MS.
Stroud shot an 8-under-par 64 on Saturday to move into second place. It was his lowest round this season, and the lowest on TOUR since the 2018 RBC Canadian Open, when he shot an opening-round 65. He finished just one stroke off the lead on Sunday and credited the work he’s been putting in the last couple of weeks for his third-round 64, and his runner-up finish.
This is Chris Stroud’s 3rd Top 10 of the season in just 12 starts. This 2nd Place Finish moved him up 37 spots to 73rd on the FedEx Cup Points List. He joined the PGA TOUR in 2004 and has accumulated 32 Top 10 Finishes and over $12 million dollars in career earnings.
On the PGA Tour Champions, Scott Parel shot 69 in his final round to force a sudden death playoff with Kevin Sutherland. Parel battled and matched scores with Sutherland for 5 holes on Sunday night before play was called due to darkness. When play resumed on Monday, Sutherland sank a birdie putt on the seventh hole of the sudden death playoff to capture the win.
This was Parel’s first Top 10 in just 6 starts this season on the Champions Tour and he is currently ranked 11th on the Charles Schwab Points List.
