Congratulations to University of Arkansas All-American Maria Fassi on her NCAA Individual Championship and her T11 at the USGA’s Women’s Open, held last week at the Country Club of Charleston. This was her first event as a professional and she took home a very nice first paycheck.
Maria was an All-American golfer at the University of Arkansas. The Arkansas golf team was one of the very first college teams to embrace the Putting Arc, thanks to the donation of a few Putting Arcs by former coach and athletic director Frank Broyles, some 16 years ago.
Congratulations also to Ally McDonald for her T10 at the Women’s Open. Her final round was played under very difficult conditions, and her check was her biggest yet in her three years on the LPGA Tour. Way to play, Ally!
Finally, congratulations to Kevin Sutherland for his course record final round of 10 under 62 and his 8 birdies on the final nine holes. He won a two hole playoff over Scott Parel at the PGA Tour Champions Principal Charity Classic in Des Moines, Iowa.
