GolfBuddy aim w10 GPS Watch
Check out the new GolfBuddy aim w10 smart golf GPS watch. We’ve had a chance to give their newest addition a try and we’ve liked what we’ve seen! This watch offers a colorful and easy to use interface that give useful and accurate numbers. GolfBuddy has added the tagline “aim” to this year’s models – Accuracy, Innovative, Measurable. Read on and I’ll show you if they’ve accomplished just that in this fancy new stroke saver.
Features
The GolfBuddy aim w10 GPS watch tries its best to pack as many high-end features into a stylish and lightweight watch as it can. All the usuals are there – a 1.3” touch screen, full color face, and instant connection to 40,000+ courses. You’ve got full-hole navigation and then a great up close and personal green view, with the mandatory front/middle/back pin measurements. If you need further refinement, you can drag & drop pin location on the green. That’s a neat feature.
Obviously, there’s more. There’s a scorecard of course, and some really great advanced features like green reading maps and slope adjustment when it’s available. It’s kind of like a mini topo map. There’s a lot of horsepower here. It’s like having a 4k TV. It will handle all the data you can throw at it and present it beautifully. Some of our cable providers (and golf courses!) haven’t caught up to the tech yet, but it’s still pretty darn solid even with the basics…
Out of the Box
Ok, first impressions. GolfBuddy did a great a great job with solid, simple, attractive packaging. That’s mandatory for me when I’m looking at a device like this. The watch itself has the “right” weight, and feels durable from the start. It looks good with modern, classy styling. I really like that they included a backup wristband (very comfortable and adjustable) and the charger clips on effortlessly. Well done, you pass with flying colors here, GolfBuddy.
For the most part, the aim s10 good to go right out of the box. “Play Golf” could not be easier, but we’ll walk through golf performance in a bit. I do have some issues with the software though. Here goes: the menus use a lot of non-standard phrasing and can use a lot of copy editing. There’s wording like “Golf Setting,” “T-Time,” and “Score card.” It’s just… off a bit. Unless I’m missing something, you can only set up International date (like day/month/year) and not US standard (month/day/year). Some of the menu interface is not super intuitive and fonts/buttons can be small and hard to press. For all the great features included here, I see this as a fairly notable missed detail.
I also notice the touchscreen is maybe a bit “sticky” compared to the glass on my iPhone. All the menus and features are pretty responsive though. Not perfect, but not laggy or distracting, so that’s good to see. GolfBuddy have made a Bluetooth connectable app, but I could not really get these going either. My opinion and preference is that I don’t tend to set them up anyway, but some may want to immerse in every feature. I’ve got a different eco-system for fitness tracking and apps, and while the extra data is cool, it’s just too hard to sync them all so honestly I don’t even bother.
On-Course Performance
While I have some concerns about the menus, none of that really matters because the GolfBuddy aim w10 GPS works so wonderfully on course. I’m very impressed with the flawlessness of the most important golf functions. I’m a big fan of the basic “Play” mode – the front/middle/back screen. The color looks vibrant in even the brightest skies, the fonts are beautiful, and above all else, I’m getting good numbers. I’ve taken the time to double check a lot of the data, using my older GPS watches and the new GolfBuddy aim L10 Rangefinder. The numbers work out and I trust them.
Now, even before you’re in the fairway, the aim w10 gives you a wonderful bird’s eye view of the golf hole. You see clear distance to hazards on the overview (as well as an easy to swipe to “hazards” page). The “hole view” screen shows you where your 150, 200, 250 yard drives will land and then of course the familiar 200, 150, 100 yard markers in to the hole. It’s impossible to NOT be able to calculate where you’re going. Very well executed!
Final Thoughts
In the end, the GolfBuddy aim w10 offers some absolute stand-out features, but has a few menu areas that frankly could have been ironed out better. For me, the most important things are speed, simplicity, and reliability, and that’s what you get here. I’m very confident this aim w10 watch will translate into better performance on the golf course.
Because of bad strap connection, my watch falls off of my arm. I can send pictures of watch, receipt, damaged connectiin. How can I get a replacement? Aim w 10 Gulf Buddy.
Dwight,
We are just a site that reviewed the watch. Your best bet is to click one of the links and follow up with the actual manufacturer.

Dwight, see my previous reply. We are an independent golf website where we review products. We don’t provide support or warranty services for any of these brands. You need to go to Golfbuddy’s website and reach out to them. We can’t help with this. We aren’t Golfbuddy.
