Me and My Golf Target Towel
If you are anything like me, I need all the help I can get when it comes to scoring around the greens. It’s also one of my favorite parts of my game to practice. Whether it’s the bump and run, flop shot or anything in between, scoring around the greens is key to lowering your scores. Me and My Golf have come up with an ingenious way to combine a short game training aid and a piece of golf gear that is easily overlooked, the towel. You may be familiar with Piers Ward and Andy Proud from their popular golf YouTube channel filled with great training tips. The Me and My Golf Target Towel follows suit and offers an easy and intuitive means of honing your short game skills that players of all handicaps can appreciate.
Towel Specs & Features
We all know putting practice is a bit boring and due to this, putting is often the area golfers practice the least. After using the Me and My Golf Target Towel I found practice to be much more enjoyable. The Target Towel features a dual sided, microfiber cloth construction that is soft to the touch, yet durable enough to hold up to the muddiest rounds or roughest training sessions. It’s Perfect for creating a landing or putting zone by securely pegging into the ground with standard golf tees, and fits round a conventional golf hole. On the flip side, literally, the towel features swing path alignment to help you more constantly set up and strike the ball, key for those testy chips.
I want to circle back on this towel’s durability. The graphics on this towel aren’t going anywhere. I was nervous at first to use the towel to clean my clubs in fear of the alignment lines or text rubbing off. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised to say this was not the case and the towel held up fantastically, even after going through the washing machine. The dark color of the towel hides dirt and grime nicely in case you forget to wash your towel after a few rounds – something I am often guilty of.
Lastly, not only are you getting a training aid built into your new towel but included in the package are five free training videos you can use with the Target Towel. What is your current towel doing for your game?
Benefits
At the time of reviewing the Me and My Golf Target Towel, it was the middle of the offseason here in the Midwest. Training opportunities and space are at a premium. During a few recent indoor range sessions, I found the Target Towels swing path and set up capabilities to be a great way to work on the draw or eliminate the pesky slice that haunts me in my sleep. I did find an indoor putting and chipping area and was able to use the target function of the towel.
In combination with the training videos, I found myself really enjoying putting them on and the towel helps “gamify” the practice process. I think it’s best to use the towel to put pressure on yourself to get long putts within the towel or a roughly 2-foot diameter which will help reduce three putts and increase up and down rates. Again, I want to mention the training videos. All 5 are really well done as well as easy and intuitive to follow. I feel this gives the Target Towel a huge advantage over the old stained one on your bag begging for a change. Or to be thrown away.
