RANCH CUCAMONGA, CA – Nexbelt®, The Belt With No Holes, would like to congratulate Tour Ambassador, Jason Kokrak, on winning the CJ Cup held at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend.
Kokrak fired an 8-under par 64 to overcome a three-shot deficit at the start of the final round on Sunday and won a duel on the back nine against tournament leader Xander Schauffele. He finished at 20 under par, 2 strokes ahead of the field, to capture the first PGA TOUR victory of his career.
The timing couldn’t be better. THE CJ CUP moved from South Korea this year to Shadow Creek in Las Vegas because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It feels like home,” said Kokrak. “I’ve played this golf course enough that I should know it by now. I think anytime when you haven’t won on a tour for a while, you have to fight off the doubt. But for me, it was inevitable. Working as hard as I have been the last couple of years, I was going to put myself in that position multiple times, so it was inevitable I was eventually going to get it done.”
Kokrak earned a paycheck for $1.75 million dollars and 500 FedExCup points for this victory. He is now fully exempt through the 2022-23 season. He also earned entry into THE PLAYERS Championship, the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and the 2021 Masters and PGA Championship.
