CARLSBAD, Calif. – Nippon Shaft today introduced 21-time Japanese champion Yuta Ikeda as a brand ambassador for its globally known and tour-proven steel shafts.
The 36-year-old tour pro will use the company’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ System 3 Tour125 Prototype TX steel shafts in his irons and wedges. He also will use Nippon Shaft-branded tour golf bags, headgear, headcovers, umbrellas, towels and travel cover equipment.
Ikeda, who turned pro in 2007, plays primarily on the Japan Golf Tour but has played around the world, including on the PGA Tour, and has competed in several major championships, including the Masters, Open Championship and PGA Championship.
“Nippon Shaft is pleased to announce that it has signed an equipment provision contract with Yuta Ikeda,” said Nippon Shaft’s President Naoto Sakai. “Yuta Ikeda will be competing in the 2022 season with N.S.PRO iron and wedge shafts, caddy bags, headgear, headcovers, umbrellas, towels and travel cover golf equipment. Yuta has an insatiable quest for ‘gear’ and we look forward to this partnership helping him improve his performance, as we work together to make golf a better game.”
Ikeda said he is honored to represent Nippon Shaft.
“I have been playing Nippon Shaft products since my junior days and am very excited to represent Nippon Shaft on tour,” Ikeda said. “Out on tour, we place the utmost trust in our equipment to enable us to perform the best we can. I will do my best to convey to the world with my play the technical capabilities of Nippon Shaft products.”
More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy and trajectory.
