CARLSBAD, Calif. (October 22, 2019) – A player using Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO 950GH steel shafts in her irons and wedges Sunday (Oct. 21) successfully defended her title at the Buick LPGA Shanghai at the Qizhong Garden GC in Shanghai, China.

The 27-year-old native Californian posted rounds of 69-67-66-70 for a 16-under par total of 272 and earned a winner’s check worth $315,000.  It was the third professional victory for the two-time U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, who also won the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. This season, she has eight other top 10 finishes.

The N.S. PRO 950GH is a shaft that hundreds of touring professionals stock in their bags on a week to week basis.

“Nippon Shaft is very happy that such a high-quality player has trusted Nippon Shaft over the last several years to compete at the highest levels of women’s golf,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.  “She is only 27 and moving into her competitive prime.”

Introduced in the early 1990s, Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO 950GH was the first sub-100 gram steel shaft that was embraced by touring professionals and avid golfers seeking superior performance and feel.  The shaft still remains popular today, according to company officials.
