Nippon Shaft Wins U.S. Amateur

CARLSBAD, Calif.  – The winner of the U.S. Amateur used Nippon Shaft products to help carry him to victory.

The 22-year-old Texan used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour120 X flex steel shafts in his irons to fashion a 1-up victory (Aug. 21) on the 36th hole of the final match at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. The shafts also proved to be worthy of his entertaining club twirls after a good shot.

The winner of the Havemeyer Trophy will also receive invitations to three of the four major championships in 2023. The Champion now heads back to Texas A&M, where he was a first-team All-American earlier this year. He will be a fifth-year senior.

“Nippon Shaft is thrilled for the winner of the U.S. Amateur and congratulates him on the great accomplishment of winning the most prestigious tournament in amateur golf,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We will be watching and supporting him as he plays his final year as an amateur and has the opportunity to play at Augusta and other tour events.”

More than 200 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour – as well as countless elite amateurs – use Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com
