Chez Reavie, coming off a career-best T3 finish at the U.S. Open last week, rallied off 8 birdies over his final 11 holes to take a commanding 6-stroke lead over the field thru 54 at the Travelers Championship, a lead he would not relinquish on Sunday. The win is Reavie’s second on the PGA TOUR.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Reavie converted on the largest 54-hole lead in tournament history, aided by a blistering back 9 28 on Saturday.
- Complementing his ’17 M2 driver, Reavie also has two M5 fairways in the bag which he added at this year’s WGC-Mexico Championship. He prefers the M5 as he achieves the high ball flight he seeks with moderate spin.
- Reavie finished the week first in Strokes Gained-Tee to Green and hit 83% of fairways en route to winning his 2nd career PGA TOUR title.
- Reavie, who isn’t often changing product, continues to play with his P750 Tour Proto irons, which he first put into play at the 2017 Shell Houston Open. He has them equipped with Nippon Modus 120 x shafts.
- With the win, Reavie is projected to move to a career-best 26th in the Official World Golf Rankings, and has risen 36 spots in the last 2 weeks following his T3 finish at the U.S. Open and win this week.
