Sure, we’ve all heard of Master’s Champion, Adam Scott, and the long-driving legend, British Open and PGA Champion, John Daly. But then there are the comedic actors, Jon Daly and Adam Scott. I’m a big fan of both their work independently, but this gem that is “The Adult Swim Golf Classic” was one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen.
The premise of the show is that the actors, Jon Daly and Adam Scott, are supposed to be caricatures of the real golfers, but Adam Scott doesn’t have the Australian accent and the event takes place in 1966. Oh, and both of them are terrible at golf. You also get a great performance from Gary Williams, whom I’m not usually a big fan of, but he plays his role perfectly in this. Williams does a tremendous job making you believe he’s taking his commentating responsibilities seriously.
Anyway, I could ramble on about The Adult Swim Golf Classic, but just watch it. If you’re a golf nerd, don’t take life too serious, like a good laugh based on satire, and appreciate a good mockumentary, then you’ll enjoy these 23 minutes.
Watch it on Adult Swim here.
