CARLSBAD, Calif. – Twelve players who rely on Nippon Shaft products have graduated to the PGA TOUR following the final playoff event on the developmental Korn Ferry Tour, which concluded Monday (Sept. 2) near Evansville.
Five of the 12 players earned their PGA TOUR cards via their performances in the Korn Ferry Tour playoffs, including two who finished in the top 10 on Monday at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship at Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana.
Seven others secured their cards before the playoffs by finishing among the top 25 on the regular season Korn Ferry Tour money list.

The players used six different kinds of steel shafts within Nippon Shaft’s MODUS series. Five used N.S.PRO MODUS³ TOUR 105s, three used N.S.PRO MODUS³ TOUR 130s, and one player each used the N.S.PRO MODUS³ TOUR 120, 125, PROTO GOST, and PROTO 2F15.
One player used the N.S. PRO Regio Formula M+graphite shaft in his driver and fairway woods.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the 28-year-old Swede defeated the No. 2-ranked player in the world and two others on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
The champion used Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ TOUR 120 X flex steel shafts en route to winning with a birdie three on the first hole of sudden death. He shot 14-under par in regulation play with rounds of 64-70-66-66—266 at Crans-sur-Sierre GC in Crans Montana, Switzerland, hitting 70 percent of his greens in regulation. His winner’s check was €416,666 or $457,000.
And at the Sinclair Invitational Senior Championship, the 52-year-old Englishman used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO 950GH S flex steel shaft in his irons to win his second event on the Staysure Tour.
The champion shot an 11-under par total Sunday (Sept. 1) with rounds of 68-71-66—205 in the 54-hole event at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Ware, Hertfordshire, England. He earned €66,168 or $72,600 for the victory, his second on the senior circuit.
