Fujikura demonstrated its position as the leading shaft brand in competitive golf after emerging as the No.1 driver shaft in play across both the men’s and women’s fields at the NCAA Division 1 Golf Championships in Carlsbad, California.
Widely regarded as the highest level of collegiate golf in the world, NCAA Division 1 competition features many of the game’s most accomplished amateur players, with student-athletes representing more than 100 countries. Fujikura’s presence throughout the Championship highlighted the trust that the next generation of elite golfers continues to place in the brand’s performance-driven products.
For many competitors, success at the NCAA Championship serves as a stepping stone to the professional ranks through pathways such as the PGA Tour University program.
In the Men’s Championship, Fujikura was the No.1 driver shaft in play, accounting for a remarkable and dominant 60.9% of the field – a margin of 48.7% over the nearest competitor. The brand also led the wood shaft category with 60.2% of the field and topped the hybrid shaft count with 54.8%.
The influence of Fujikura extended beyond equipment counts and into the season-long PGA Tour University rankings, which have become one of the most important pathways for players from collegiate golf to the professional game.
Introduced in 2020, the PGA Tour University program rewards the top-performing NCAA Division 1 men’s players based on season-long results. Since 2023, the No.1 ranked player has earned direct Tour membership, while players finishing second through 10th receive status on the main US feeder Tour. Recent graduates have quickly established themselves among the world’s best professionals.
Reflecting Fujikura’s continued presence among golf’s rising stars, nine of the top 10 players in the final PGA Tour University rankings this season played a Fujikura driver shaft, including the No.1 ranked player who secured main Tour exemption using a VENTUS BLACK 7-X.
Eric Recher, Director of Marketing at Fujikura, said: “The NCAA Division 1 Championship represents one of the strongest competitions for elite amateur talent anywhere in the world – and so it feels very rewarding to be supporting so many great players at the event.
“Fujikura has always had a vision to support all levels of golfers, from club players, elite amateurs and those in the professional game. It is particularly rewarding to see so many of the players progressing through the PGA Tour University program choosing Fujikura products as they prepare for professional careers.”
The results continue a long-standing trend of Fujikura being the preferred choice among many of the world’s best players. As collegiate golf continues to produce the next generation of Tour stars, Fujikura remains committed to delivering the innovation, consistency and performance that players demand when competing at the highest level.
