A Great Putter Restoration Adventure From Scott Readman

During my recent trip to the UK where I got to spend some time at Scott Readman Concepts HQ, Scott told me a little story about an old putter of his.  In short, it all starts back in 2013 when Scott had two copper putters that were beautiful single-piece milled heads.  After sitting on these two putters for a bit, Scott decided it was time to let them out into the wild.  One made its way to America, the other to a friend in Bristol, UK.  Fast forward to this year and the American owner reached out to Scott and was like, “hey, I think I got the other copper putter off eBay!  Would you mind bringing it back to life for me?”  Scott accepted the putter restoration job and the head was on its way back home to Bristol – if only for a visit.

Yeah, the head looks great with this patina, but a little freshening up wouldn’t hurt.  After consulting with the customer, Scott went to work filing and sanding by hand before sending it off to get vapor blasted (or vapour since he’s in England).  Following that work, all that was left to do was paint the putter, shaft and grip it, and create a sick matching headcover.

The putter is absolutely beautiful.  Scott walks you through the whole story as well as the restoration process in detail with more pictures here so check it out.

Conveniently as I was punching this post in, SRC shared a picture on social media of the revived putter next to its counterpart back in America.  Pretty sick seeing the two putters reunited.
