The Return of TearDrop Putters
Bill takes you behind the gear to discuss the history of TearDrop Putters and their return to the golf market.
TearDrop Putters were known for their unique rolled face design in the early 1990s. This design aimed to eliminate bouncing and skidding on off-center hits, resulting in a pure roll. Their innovative design was arguably ahead of its time, if not a little weird. The company gained so much traction that they even acquired other brands. However, due to debt and a decline in the golf equipment industry around 2000, TearDrop Putters went out of business.
Recently, TearDrop Golf returned with inspiration drawn from their innovative roots, but with newer designs that feature grooved faces for improved roll. The TD-1 blade putter boasts a more traditional look and easier putting experience compared to the originals. Though a significant departure from the original designs, the commitment to a premium product to help golfers hole more putts is still there.
TearDrop golf is also offering a more traditional mallet (TD-5) and a modern mallet (TD-7) to round out their lineup.
