Cobra King F7 Driver
Cobra Golf has been on a pretty good run in recent years. One of their most reliable and best all around performing drivers in this recent run is the King F7 driver. The King F7 driver is packed with forgiveness, great feel, and the right amount of adjustability to be practical and logical.
First Impressions
My immediate impressions of the Cobra King F7 driver were fairly predictable. The King F7 head profile closely resembles its past few predecessors save for the checkerboard pattern on the crown previously seen on the King LTD. The head shape is rounder with a medium depth face. On the sole you’ll find a pretty tame look for Cobra and the three adjustable weights for controlling the center of gravity (CG). Cobra has previously been known for a wide range of wild head colors, but the F7 driver is only available in black, blue, and silver as they reel in the options. I’m glad they still offer a couple of colors, but I’m glad they’ve narrowed down the palate.
How Does it Feel?
The Cobra F7 driver’s greatest highlight might be its feel. The F7’s face is extremely forgiving but is still extremely responsive and solid. If that forgiveness is a big deal to you, you’re in luck with the King F7 driver. There is a lot of grace across the face and you’re only going to be severely punished through the bad miss. Take note, adjusting the weights on the F7 driver will alter the balance therefore changing the feel of the head. This is important to keep in mind when adjusting the club.
How Does it Sound?
The Cobra King F7 isn’t exactly the loudest driver on the range but it certainly has a presence. Like most drivers, the best tones come from the center of the face but the F7 has a little extra room for error. A nicely struck shot will give you a firm “thwap” at impact. A badly missed shot may give you more of a “tink.”

In an era of adjustability, the Cobra King F7 driver has the right amount. You can adjust between multiple lofts and lie angles as well as adjust the CG to finely tune the driver to your needs. In the case of the King F7, you can also adjust the weighting for a draw bias, but I swung it so bad in this configuration I didn’t even consider the data. I had the best average numbers with the weight forward, but moving the weight back gave me a little bit more control and consistency. Based on the numbers above, I’d be willing to sacrifice a couple extra yards and some spin for consistent accuracy. Thankfully with the King F7 driver you have that option.
Final Thoughts
Though I’m more of a King LTD and F7+ guy, it’s hard to argue that the Cobra King F7 isn’t a great driver that has appeal to a wider range of players. The King F7’s forgiving and responsive feel mixed with its consistency make for a great combination to hit fairways. Even better, the King F7’s reliability could go a long way to making you feel more confident on the tee box, and that’s half the battle.
