ORLANDO, FL – FlightScope, the global leader and pioneer in tracking and analyzing sports performance data, is pleased to announce the launch of its groundbreaking FlightScope i4 Laser Rangefinder. This cutting-edge rangefinder includes several unique features and benefits for golfers of all skill levels such as effective playing distance based on ball speed, launch angle and spin, taking into account the individual’s ball flight for the current weather, including wind speed and direction, personalized club recommendations, as well relative landing height.
The FlightScope i4 goes far beyond the traditional slope compensation when it comes to relative landing height, as a complex ball trajectory is calculated using the golfer’s personal ball flight data within the current weather and wind, for every club and then calculating the intersection of all possible clubs relevant to the target distance.
The FlightScope i4 is more than just a rangefinder, it’s a revolutionary, intelligent golfing companion. By combining cutting edge AI, real-time patented FlightScope Environmental Optimizer (FS EO), and advanced ballistic calculations, the FlightScope i4 elevates precision and strategy to a new standard for both professional and amateur golfers.
“We are excited to introduce the FlightScope i4 as a game-changer in the world of golf technology,” said Henri Johnson, Founder and CEO of FlightScope. “By leveraging AI, local real-time weather, advanced ballistics, and the patented FS EO, the i4 helps golfers gain a significant edge by suggesting the best club for every shot and providing hyper-accurate Effective Playing Distances related to the golfer’s own shot data and home course conditions. This translates to more confident decision-making and ultimately, lower scores on the course.”
At the core of the i4’s precision is FlightScope’s patented Environmental Optimizer (FS EO), which pulls real-time weather conditions including local air pressure, temperature, relative humidity, wind, and relative landing height, which is used to calculate air density and density altitude. The FS EO helps ensure that the distance calculations are always accurate and relevant to the current playing conditions.
The result is an Effective Playing Distance that factors in the FS EO real-time local environmental conditions and uses your home location as a reference to give golfers the most accurate Effective Playing Distance possible for each shot. To further refine distance readings, the i4 also factors in slope, (which translates to relative landing height), wind speed and direction. The average wind speed and other weather conditions are pulled from the closest weather station. The wind direction is user selectable on the i4 Rangefinder. On top of an accurate Effective Playing Distance users also get a personalized club recommendation based on their personal launch data and the current weather and environmental conditions, providing the ultimate confidence that you have the right club for every shot.
Another unique feature is the FlightScope i4 Smart Gapping AI Tool. Don’t have a launch monitor or know your data for every club? With the Smart Gapping AI Tool users can input one or more of their carry distances, (or club launch conditions for the more technical golfers), and get an instant report with carry distance, launch angle, and spin rates for every club in the bag – ensuring accurate personalized club recommendations. If you do have access to a FlightScope launch monitor, you can complete a gapping session that stores representative shots to capture launch characteristics and distances with every club in the bag. Once complete, the FS Golf App integrates the data, allowing the i4 to function like a virtual caddie. Data from other brands’ launch monitors can also be plugged into the FS Golf App manually or through a CSV file. Unlike some systems, there are zero additional fees or subscriptions associated with the i4 or FlightScope launch monitors.
Key features and benefits of the FlightScope i4 include:
- Personalized Club Recommendations: Based on the users’ personal launch data, current weather and environmental conditions, including wind speed and direction, ensuring that every recommendation is tailored to the users’ ball trajectories in the current environment.
- Effective Playing Distance: Provides a dynamic effective distance that uses your home location for reference and then factors in real-time local environmental conditions.
- Real-Time Patented FS Environmental Optimizer: The FS EO is the engine behind the i4 Rangefinder that pulls real-time weather data to help with distance calculations that are accurate and relevant to the current playing conditions.
- FlightScope i4 Smart Gapping AI Tool: Creates a personalized club distance table, helping golfers accurately plan shots based on their individual performance.
- Wind Speed and Direction: Simple user-selectable wind direction paired with real-time wind speed from local weather stations to help calculate your effective playing distance
- Bluetooth connectivity for easy connection to the FS Golf app to pull local weather and access your data for club recommendations.
- Slope functionality that adjusts the distance to your target by accounting for the slope of the terrain. Built with an easy on/off toggle for tournament play.
- Built in Magnet for ease of use with golf carts.
- 5-1000 Yard Range
- Rechargeable USB-C battery
- Waterproof Construction
