Carlsbad, California. (August 28, 2020) – Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, is proud to launch the newest addition to the VENTUS line of shafts, the HB. VENTUS HB is designed specifically to enhance the performance of today’s hybrids and utility/driving irons. It features Fujikura’s revolutionary and proprietary VeloCore Technology found in VENTUS wood shafts which is a multi-material bias core designed to increase torsional stiffness and maximize energy transfer.
“After the success of the Ventus wood shafts, the demand for a hybrid shaft was extremely high. We heard requests from our Charter Dealers, Tour Reps and golfers to develop a hybrid shaft with VeloCore Technology. We’re excited to introduce the new Ventus HB and we’re confident it will be as game-changing to golfers’ hybrids and utilities as it is to their woods,” – Jeremy Butler, Director of Sales & Operations.
About Ventus HB: Featuring Fujikura’s proprietary multi-material bias core construction, VeloCore, the HB shaft is an ultra-stable and forgiving hybrid shaft. VeloCore combined with an ultra-stiff tip section promotes the ultimate stability through transition and impact that hybrid/utility clubs endure off the turf or even the thickest rough. VENTUS HB has the lowest torque we’ve ever produced in a hybrid shaft and the stiffest tip section to reduce twisting and promote straighter shots.
Utilizing years of product development and understanding of why golfers play hybrids and utility irons, VENTUS HB was developed to provide the proper launch and descent angles in two distinct profiles. Both profiles hit the launch windows golfers are seeking with a hybrid or utility while providing versatility for all types of shot conditions. The VENTUS HB lineup was created to cover a wide range of swing types providing high-performance options for moderate speed golfers looking for forgiveness and consistency in a high-lofted hybrid to tour-level speeds wanting a boring trajectory with ultimate stability in a utility iron.
VENTUS Blue HB
Designed to maximize forgiveness where you need it most, VENTUS Blue HB promotes stability through transition and impact – especially through the turf – while enhancing energy transfer and ball speeds through an accelerated taper. Like the wood shaft counterpart, the blue profile has an accelerated taper and its butt and mid-section promote more efficient loading of the club for mid-launch performance. VENTUS Blue HB combines a mid-trajectory with a moderate amount of spin to ensure you are hitting shots that hold their line, hit your window, and stop on the green.
VENTUS Black HB
Made for tour-like speeds and golfers that need to maintain or reduce spin, VENTUS Black HB creates a fierce, penetrating trajectory that doesn’t waiver from your target line. It features a stiffer handle and mid-section than the blue model to stiffen the overall feel and promote lower launch and spin. Because of its stiffness, the flexes are designated as “TX” (Tour X) to convey they are stiffer than standard X flex. Like every VENTUS model, VENTUS Black HB was designed to promote on-center face contact and ultimate stability, especially for the highest of speeds.
“Our engineers were tasked with creating two distinct models based on our understanding of how golfers use their hybrids and utility/driving irons. The goal was for VENTUS Blue HB to provide the golfing majority a smooth and ultra-stable profile that promotes the proper peak height and descent angle for today’s hybrids. We also know that many golfers with faster speeds are looking for a piercing trajectory from their hybrids or utility irons. They are looking to manufacture a variety of shots, so our VENTUS Black HB TX models were created with high-speed versatility in mind.” – Austin Tudor, Product Marketing Manager
About VeloCore Technology: A multi-material core comprised of ultra-high modulus Pitch 70 Ton Carbon Fiber and 40 Ton bias core layers that are the full length of the shaft for incredible stability. VeloCore promotes consistent center-face impact and provides ultimate stability, tightening dispersion and increasing control. The result is a shaft that maximizes the MOI (moment of inertia) and ball speed of your clubhead through the reduction of twist during the swing and at impact, especially on off-center hits.
VENTUS HB is available in two launch profiles, Blue and Black, and a wide variety of weights and flexes, ranging from 64 grams to 105 grams and R2 up to TX flex. The shafts are 42” raw uncut and have a .370” tip OD. The shaft retails for $200 MSRP and is available exclusively at 600+ authorized Fujikura Charter Dealers. The Blue profile is available at dealers on September 1 and the Black will be available September 15, 2020.
