Fujikura Ventus TR Blue Shaft
The new Fujikura Ventus TR Blue with enhanced VeloCore+ technology steps into a sweet spot missing in the current Ventus lineup: a mid-launch, low-spin shaft with added stability and smoother feel than its original TR predecessor. Built on the original Ventus TR profile, itself a popular blend between the more active Blue and the ultra-stiff Ventus Black, this next-generation model aims to keep what golfers loved while improving feel and tightening up dispersion. With Fujikura’s proprietary enso® 3D motion capture testing and materials, it’s a compelling option for players seeking reliable performance with a firm, yet friendly profile.
The Looks
Visually, the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue maintains the familiar, signature Ventus look that golfers have come to recognize. The finish is a matte navy blue, consistent with the newer standard Ventus lineup, and the overall graphic styling remains clean and understated. TR-specific branding is a subtle gold TR stamp, while the defining visual cue is the visible spread tow weave near the handle, a hallmark carried over from the original TR shafts. It’s a polished, performance-first design that looks premium without being loud, and it fits seamlessly into the broader Ventus family.
How Does it Feel?
On the course and range, the feel of the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ lies somewhere between firm stability and silky, precise, responsiveness. Fujikura’s addition of the updated VeloCore+ material and optimized spread tow reinforcements helps reduce unwanted twisting while preserving a lively, yet controlled sensation during transition and through impact. This isn’t a boardy shaft you have to muscle. It’s stable but still “alive” enough that you get good feedback and rhythm in your swing. Golfers familiar with the original TR Blue will notice it feels a bit smoother and more consistent without losing that stable, mid-kick energy golfers enjoyed previously.
In practical terms, it offers confidence through the swing while still feeling sweet in your hands. You feel like you can get into a little more than the standard Ventus Blue while still being able to load and release the shaft.
On-Course Performance
| Club Speed | Ball Speed | Launch Angle | Spin | Carry (Yds) | Total (Yds) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 116.5 | 169 | 12.7Âş | 2497 | 295.3 | 310 |
The Fujikura Ventus TR Blue played noticeably more controlled than the regular Ventus Blue I’ve been gaming for the past season. Dispersion was tighter, and my launch angle and spin stayed more consistent. On occasion, the softer profile of the regular Blue could see my launch and spin “sneak away” from me. With the Ventus TR Blue, this didn’t happen for me. Additionally, my stock shot was a consistent powerful trajectory with a tight few-yard draw to it. I could just as easily let that out to a slight fade if I had to.
That extra stability does have a trade-off. When I didn’t fully commit to the release, I was more capable of leaving the face a bit open or not turning the club over completely. I chalk that up to the firmer profile sitting between the standard Ventus Blue and Black. But when I stayed aggressive, or maybe got a little ahead of myself in transition, the shaft held up, resisting twisting and keeping the clubface predictable through impact.
Because of that, I felt comfortable swinging a little harder and faster without worrying about over-cooking launch or spin. Early results suggest the TR Blue with VeloCore+ offers a solid mix of stability and playable speed for a more aggressive swing, and I’m curious to see how consistently it can maintain ideal launch and spin over the long term. Paired with the improved feel from VeloCore+, I felt more dialed in off of the tee.
Final Thoughts – Fujikura Ventus TR Blue Shaft
Fujikura’s VeloCore+ meaningfully improves the feel of the Ventus TR Blue, making it more playable and connected in the hands than the original TR. I felt more awareness of the clubhead throughout the swing, which allowed me to benefit from the shaft’s added stability without giving up feel. With the original TR Blue, I sometimes struggled to get the response I wanted despite it being a good fit on paper, and that “disconnect” just wasn’t present here.
Compared to the standard Ventus Blue, the distinction comes down to fit rather than forgiveness. The standard Blue is undoubtedly “friendlier” to play and offers a familiar sweetness in its reliability, but easier doesn’t always mean better. For players with more aggressive tempos or transitions, the Ventus TR Blue provides a similar sense of trust while offering added stability and control when the swing speeds up.
I’m genuinely excited about the prospects of this shaft and spending more time with it in my driver. Early results suggest there’s real potential here, and I’m interested to see if I can continue to perform with it as I log more rounds with it. If those early impressions hold, the Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ could end up being a very strong long-term fit in my bag.
