Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 Rangefinder

These days, it’s sure getting tough to navigate the world of affordable rangefinders. More and more competitors are popping up with a device that offers everything you need in a rangefinder at an extremely accessible price point. Remember, not all rangefinders are created equal and you still need a strong performer on the golf course. The Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 is a fully-loaded option than can be had for less than $100 and we put it through its paces.

Out of the Box

From a “point and shoot” perspective, the Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 is pretty straightforward. Just open the box, pop in the included CR2 battery, and you’re off and running. An owner’s manual is included that’s easy to follow so you understand each mode, but all you have to do for each of them is hit the M button. Mode 1 is essentially the continuous scan mode. Mode 2 is where flag-lock is enabled which we’ll discuss in the next section. There’s a third mode where you can measure the speed of a target, but that functionality is for hunting.

Features

The Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 rangefinder works up to 650 yards for golf. From 150 yards and in, the GS03 has pin-seek technology. This means that between 5 and 150 yards, the GS03 will lock onto the pin and vibrate indicating that it has done so. From 300 yards and in, the GS03 is able to lock onto a flag and give a vibration. There’s also the addition of slope, which is the total distance to your target adjusted for height differences. This feature is easily turned on and off by a switch on the side with a red indicator on the switch so you quickly know if you’re tournament legal. And last but not least, the GS03 features 6x magnification.

On-Course Performance

Functionally, the Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 rangefinder delivers on all of its promises. The distances are accurate and the pin-seek technology, along with the target-lock vibration, produces quick results. I wouldn’t say the optics are necessarily the most premium, but they are clear and the adjustable diopter allows you to get dialed in for your particular eyesight. If there was one criticism I would have from a performance perspective, that Vpro GS03 is a bit on the larger side. It’s definitely bulky and I think a much smaller profile would really go a long way in this device. Even at this price point, I believe the “comfort experience” could be vastly improved.

Final Thoughts – Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 Rangefinder

I think it’s fair to say that the Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 rangefinder may not have the touch and feel of a premium rangefinder, but it’s certainly a functional device at an extremely small fraction of that premium cost. But that’s fine. Many golfers are just looking for something to get the job done without breaking the bank. The Vpro GS03 certainly gets does that and is extremely affordable. From my perspective, if you’re looking for a Ferrari of a rangefinder, you should expect to pay top dollar. However, if you’re looking for something practical that gets the job done, the Gogogo Sport Vpro GS03 accomplishes this goal.
