Graphite Design Tour AD VF Driving Iron Shaft Review

Graphite Design Tour AD VF Driving Iron Shaft

Graphite Design’s Tour AD family has long been a staple for players seeking premium feel and performance from their shafts. The Graphite Design Tour AD VF driving iron shaft, short for Victory Force, features a design built for powerful, low-launching trajectories. While originally aimed at the woods and hybrid market, the Tour AD VF also presents an intriguing option for players looking to optimize their driving irons with a graphite shaft that delivers a penetrating ball flight and tight dispersion.

The Looks

Ever since Jon mentioned in his original Graphite Design Tour AD VF wood shaft review that it reminds him of a Sith Lightsaber, that’s all I can see with it. And I love it. The Tour AD VF features a sharp black base with bold red graphics and a touch of white detailing. The iconic Tour AD rings near the grip maintain the brand’s signature styling without distracting from the club’s overall appearance. I know people are partial to the classic orange AD DI looks, but I think the Tour AD VF is my favorite in the lineup. Of course, I’m always a sucker for red/black/white colorways…

Feel 5

How Does it Feel?

If you’re familiar with the Graphite Design Tour AD family, you know that feel is one of the biggest selling points. The VF shaft has a firm handle and stiff mid-section, transitioning into a very stable,  very stiff tip. This results in a tight, controlled feel. There’s a sense of smooth load and release through the swing, but with just enough kick at impact.

In a driving iron, where feel often gets a little harsh, the VF graphite profile softens the blow slightly without sacrificing that crisp “pop” players prefer from an iron. It’s especially noticeable on flush strikes, where the VF delivers a snappy, responsive kick without excess torque or vibration.

On-Course Performance

I found the Graphite Design Tour AD VF driving iron shaft to produce a low-launching, low-spinning shot. Your own personal needs will better determine if this is what you’re looking for in a driving iron shaft, of course. Into the wind, the AD VF delivers a flat, piercing trajectory that keeps the ball on line and avoids ballooning. Dispersion stayed tight thanks to the shaft’s stability and extreme tip stiffness. My landing spots were consistent and predictable, which is a nice benefit in a typically tricky spot in the bag.

During testing, the VF consistently produced a controlled flight window, especially useful off the tee or when playing long approaches into firm greens. Players with quicker tempos or aggressive transitions will appreciate the AD VF’s ability to hold its shape under stress, while smoother swingers might find it a bit too stout unless properly fitted.

Final Thoughts – Graphite Design Tour AD VF Driving Iron Shaft

The Graphite Design Tour AD VF driving iron shaft is a strong performer that brings the same premium engineering and feel the Tour AD lineup is known for, in a profile well-suited for the demanding role of a piercing driving iron. With its ultra-stable tip, smooth yet firm feel, and penetrating low-spin flight, it delivers the kind of control and consistency better players want in this part of the bag. While it may not be the best fit for every swing, those with more aggressive tempos could find a lot to like here.
