The Red Label found itself in the Winner’s circle at the Cologuard Classic at La Paloma Country Club in Arizona! The winner had a C-Taper 115 shafts in his New Level irons. The 8-time Champions Tour winner came into the event looking to add another victory to his impressive resume’. He started out the tournament with a decent score of 69, but would need to go low on the weekend to have a chance at the victory. Saturday, he improved with a solid round of 66, the KBS veteran was now 4-strokes back! He opened up his final round with a steady even par front nine. He quickly improved on the back nine with an eagle of the 11th and birdies on holes 15 through 17 to tie the lead. He would need to par the 18th hole to force a playoff, which he did. In the tournaments 11-year history this would be the first playoff to ever take place. The 53-year-old came into the first playoff hole focused and hit a perfect drive and 2nd shot to give himself a putt for birdie. He went on to drain the long putt and claim his 9th Champions Tour victory! He said, “Just to get over that hurdle and get that one. The game’s just been feeling good, just consistent week in and week out. This is what I want, just to give myself chances.
