KBS Wins Hainan Classic in China

The Red Label is back in the Winners circle at the Hainan Classic in China after an impressive final round. The winner had KBS V-Ten 130X shafts in his Mizuno irons. The young Englishman came into the event seeking his first victory on Tour. Thursday, he opened up his campaign with a solid 68 and followed the next round with a score of 71. He would need to go low on the weekend to get atop of the leaderboard. Saturday, he improved with a solid score of 65 to tie for the lead. The final round the KBS player played a steady front nine, but fell one stroke back. The back nine he got the ball rolling by making birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 to take the lead by a few strokes. These 3 birdies were enough to sustain the lead and the victory. This win at the Hainan Classic was the first of young player’s career. What made this win even more impressive was it was only his 47th start on the DP World Tour. He said, “It’s something that I’ve always dreamt of achieving – winning on the biggest stage. After my time off (an enforced break during the winter) it was the thing that I wanted to really prove to myself and prove to everyone, to show what a player I am”. A huge congratulations goes out the Winner and the rest of the players in the field at Hainan Classic! | Player Driven. Tour Proven. |
