Kirkland Signature Golf Glove Review

Kirkland Signature Golf Glove

At this point, Costco might be the hottest golf equipment manufacturer in the industry! They don’t even offer a full range of self-branded equipment yet, but the 4-piece balls, putter, and wedges have certainly become cult classics. If you’re a huge Kirkland golf fan, you’ll notice I’m missing maybe one of Costco’s most popular pieces of equipment they sell. Yeah, I’m talking about the legendary Kirkland Signature golf glove. Available in a four pack for roughly $25 $30 (price went up $5), are these premium Cabretta leather Costco golf gloves game-changing giant killers?

The Looks

Looks are pretty basic with the Kirkland Signature golf glove which is generally ok for most people. Remember, we’re in budget golf territory, so there aren’t a ton of options. By “there aren’t a ton of options”, I mean there’s one option. A white base with a black leather closure strap. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Costco glove without a bold Kirkland Signature label right on the top of the glove. Don’t worry, no one will mistake this for one of those pompous $30-$50 FootJoy or Titleist gloves that leave people with the impression that you think you’re some kind of pro! (If you aren’t reading that sarcastically, you’re missing the joke.) In all seriousness, it’s fine. It’s a plain white and black leather golf glove.

Comfort & Fit

I typically play FootJoy or Titleist golf gloves in a size medium-large so that’s my best reference point for sizing. The same size in the Kirkland Signature golf glove is a little narrower in the fingers (not quite “cadet” narrow) but overall fits my hand somewhat similarly. After a few uses, the fingers loosened up a bit and fit more comfortably.

Overall comfort is also fine. Typical with all Kirkland golf gear, it’s not bad, it’s not great. Comfort is just fine and it won’t blow you away. That said, the glove is durable enough, but will get a little dry and crusty fairly quick even though it’s supposed to be a premium Cabretta leather.

On-Course Performance

Ok, let’s try and break this down a little bit. The Kirkland Signature glove was the first Costco-branded golf product released following the success of the balls. I originally ordered the Kirkland golf gloves with an open mind and willingness to see if they would be a great value. So I strapped a couple to my bag and played quite a few rounds with them. Naturally, I went through all the “is that a Costco…golf glove?! You ever try those balls?!” conversations. After using the Kirkland gloves for awhile, they generally performed fine and felt good enough. I didn’t notice them in any negative way, which is really about all I ask for in a glove.

However, here is where my opinion sort of changed. Sometime later, I decided I wanted to play with fresh gloves. I don’t remember what it was, but it was probably something like a FootJoy Sciflex, ProFLX, or StaSof, or something Titleist. The all-around difference was immediately noticeable. The gloves fit better, were more comfortable in gripping the club, and held up better. I enjoyed them much more.

Here’s the question though. Are the familiar brands worth roughly $10-15 per glove better? I suppose that depends on personal preference and value. For my money, yes, I’d rather pay the extra $15-22 per glove as long as they last as long as I expect my usual “go-tos” to last. Make sense?

Final Thoughts – Kirkland Signature Golf Glove

Look, who am I to tell people what to spend their money on? Golf gloves are one of the more subjective pieces of gear in the game. If the Kirkland glove is perfect on your hand and you love it, then great, at $7.50 a glove is a deal that can’t be argued with. Like most of the Kirkland golf gear, the glove is fine. Not terrible, not stellar. It’s fine. If I got given a bunch of them, I’d use them up, no problem. They just wouldn’t be my first choice to purchase for myself.

Oh, and one last note, Costco doesn’t currently offer this glove for left-handed players. (As in, play lefty, wear your glove on your right hand.) Right-handed players/wear on your left hand only, folks.

As commented below and a website search will tell you, the Costco glove is now available for lefties as well!

I’m considering a class action lawsuit against Costco for their consistent discrimination and exclusion of us left handed golfers. JK but come on it’s 2021 ?‍♂️

    • You would think with the buzz they’ve created, the demand would be there at least enough that their margin is still worth doing it. Especially with the gloves. At the very least, from a marketing perspective.

I THINK they started making the putter in lefty, no?

    • Not a fan of the golf balls. Received them as a Christmas gift. The gloves on the other hand ( no pun intended) are very durable and worth the money. I golf twice a week and hit the range on days I don’t golf. I get about 20 rounds of that per glove.

  2. You know, this review is spot on. I’ve used these in the past and actually just received my LEFTY 4 pack today! (Surprised they were in stock). Not the best, but surely not the worst. $6 for a leather glove that does everything I expect it to? I’ll take that deal anytime.

These gloves are every bit as good (if not better) that gloves which cost two or three times the price. They are true to fit (almost always…I’ve been using these for 3 years now during the spring and summer I play 3-4 times per week) and they are an especially great option, and value, for those of us who “sweat” a little more than the average golfer. At roughly $6.00 per glove…you can afford to change gloves every 3 or so and then after 2-3 golf round cycles…trash them and start fresh. Definitely a 5-star purchase.

  4. Not true, here in Canada right hand versions are available for us lefties.

Right hand gloves are available on-line with free delivery. Now that’s a deal.

  6. I play 5-6 days a week and the Costco glove is absolutely the best value in the golf business. The fit is really fantastic and durability is great. I generally get at least 15 rounds from a glove depending on the weather. I’ve been using the Costco glove for probably the last six or seven years.

I was just told the Costco glove is no longer available by a store representative. She said they will have a “new” glove available soon.
A better glove, but more money.
I’m sure that was canned script the way she said it. There was no better golf glove out there in my mind and now they’ve messed that up for me and others.

I rotate the gloves, every round I us a/different glove. They last twice as long and still tacky.
