Mileseey PF1 Rangefinder Review

Mileseey PF1 Rangefinder

The Mileseey PF1 is a compact, lightweight rangefinder that has critical features like slope measurement and flagpole lock with vibration. Generally speaking, it’s a rangefinder focused on simplicity and ease of use that’s a little more affordable than premium rangefinders from the major names in the market. Additionally, the PF1 is designed to withstand and perform in all weather conditions.

Out of the Box

Opening the Mileseey PF1 will reveal a solid carrying case that sort of reminds me of a hardshell suitcase. Inside the case is the PF1 rangefinder itself, a wrist lanyard, cleaning cloth, a carabiner, and the instruction manual. It also comes with a micro USB charging cable which I think I’m a big fan of. It’s been nice not having to rely on the goofy batteries that only rangefinders use and conveniently run out at the worst times. We’ll see if this trend continues to appeal to me over time, but I dig it right now.

Setup is pretty simple. Just make sure you’re charged up before you head out. To choose between meters and yards, a quick press of the circle button on top gets that job done. You turn slope on/off by holding the same button longer. The light toward the front on the top will indicate whether or not slope is turned on. The larger rectangle button is your power and measure button. A quick press will measure your distance while a long hold will allow you to scan targets. And of course, you can adjust the eye piece to dial in the view for your eye.

Features

While the Mileseey PF1 rangefinder is designed to be simple, it still has a good amount of features. First, the PF1 has a distance range of 1000 yards. As I already mentioned, it features slope capabilities which means you can get an adjusted measurement based on elevation difference. For clarity, this means the device will give you a distance compensating for how far your target is playing due to how much above or below you it is. The PF1 also has Flag Lock Vibration which means it will vibrate when it locks onto a target. This gives you a precise measurement to a specific target removing any potential confusion.

Mileseey used a housing that’s “IP65 water resistant”. They say this device works in heavy rains, but they also say this resistance measurement means it can “withstand light rain and dusty conditions”. I can’t say I’ve been able to really test this feature, but I suppose there’s only one way to find out what the limits are for “waterproofness”.

Lastly, the PF1 has a scan mode for continuous measurement with a 7.5° field of view.

On-Course Performance

The Mileseey PF1 rangefinder is easy to use. The two-button operation is simple to understand, and the ranging was fast in the conditions I tested in. Flag lock works well, especially with the vibration feedback that confirms successful targeting. I will say, I wouldn’t mind the display being a little more vivid at this price point. In terms of size and comfort, I thought the Mileseey PF1 was a great size. It fit in my hand well and was easy to manage on the course.

Another thing to consider is that I found my distances to be a little off from my usual rangefinder in the original device I tested. Not wildly so that it would really affect my game too much, but it was concerning. Mileseey said there was a known issue since I originally received a unit to test and replaced it with a new one. The new one returned distances much more in line with my other devices I tested against.

Final Thoughts – Mileseey PF1 Rangefinder

Mileseey delivered a user-friendly rangefinder with a compact, lightweight build in the PF1 device. It has helpful features like flag lock and slope (be mindful of tournament rules), and all-weather performance. I do want to take it out in some biblically heavy rains to see how well it really performs so I can put that all-weather claim to the test. Overall, the PF1 offers a strong set of features at a price point that might be attractive to more golfers.
