One of the greater joys that comes from running a golf website like Driving Range Heroes dot com is the unexpected discovery of fun brands. There are so many golf brands out there these days, and it can be really tough to get through all the noise and find some of the gems. Then other times you stumble into a pleasant surprise that puts a smile on your face, and fortunately we have a platform to tell others about these companies. This recently happened to me with a brand called Noonan Golf Company. As more people have been making their way to the golf course over the past season, there has been a definite shift in golf culture. Many players are looking for fun outdoor recreation and are more interested in being able to “be themselves” rather than a reflection of a century-old institution and conforming to some aged standards. The Goods
I’m positive this is largely due to me falling into the right age group for this, but when I first opened my box from Noonan Golf Co, I immediately thought of the opening credits of “Saved by the Bell” and “California Dreams“. (Don’t tell me you didn’t love California Dreams if you’re of the right age…) Noonan Golf offers a wide range of patterns clearly inspired by the 1980s and 1990s that are available across all of their different product offerings.
Let’s start with the towels. Noonan Golf Co’s towels are made up of a waffled microfiber blend and come in at 15″x24″ making them just big enough to give you enough coverage, but small enough to not become an unruly blanket hanging off of your bag. Each towel comes with a metal carabiner to easily clip to your bag, and also helps make sure you won’t lose it.
Personally, I prefer to mix and match these patterns, but you can also pick up a blade or mallet putter cover and/or a driver cover to match your sick towel.
If you want to show a little more love to this fun-loving brand, Noonan also offers a range of hats. My favorite, and clear clubhouse leader, is the Big Paul Energy snapback honoring the lumberjack legend and his faithful blue ox. I’m not sure how much Paul and Babe have to do with golf, but I appreciate the nod to Minnesota, the 8-bit graphic, and lumberjack red plaid pattern. This hat has started seeing heavy rotation as a daily wearer on and off the course.
Final Thoughts – Noonan Golf Co
There’s no question that Noonan Golf Co is a fun and vibrant brand to add a little color to your bag. What sets them apart is that they offer their range of fun accessories at an extremely affordable price point making them one of the more “accessible” brands in this area of the golf market. One of their “ethos” that I really appreciate is that golf should be as simple as asking someone “do you want to go play?” Anyone is welcome from any walk of life, and if Noonan Golf Co can do the least little bit in helping our great game seem more fun and relatable to more golfers, then they’ve succeeded in their mission.
