Original Penguin Golf Spring Lineup
With a new golf season, comes new designs from Original Penguin! The stylish new Original Penguin Golf Spring gear includes some looks to keep you cool when you need it, but warm on those crisp Spring mornings.
The Looks
Right off the bat, it’s apparent that the Original Penguin Golf Spring line is going the direction of some “louder” patterns and designs. The Glen Plaid pants are sure to turn some heads, while still keeping that “traditional” golf vibe you’d associate with Scotland. The Clubhouse Polo brings some vibrant patterns and logos to your shirt game. Original Penguin’s 50s Track Jacket and 1955 Clubhouse Polo will give you a more conservative vibe, but enough to show some style (especially that sweet jacket).
Like most gear from Original Penguin, the new line has more of a tailored fit, so keep that in mind when ordering. The shirts fit nicely to your body, and aren’t too tight for golf. As the tag says, these are definitely “slim fit”. The stretchy waistband of the pants and shorts does help a bit, but keep in mind the rear end and legs are still slim. If you’re looking for well-fitting clothes with some vibrant designs, the Original Penguin Spring line has you covered. Literally.
Comfort Level
In my previous review of Original Penguin Golf clothing, the recurring theme was that if you like tailored-fitting clothing, they’re super comfy. Original Penguin’s new Spring lineup is no different. The shirts are super soft and flexible. The performance material does a great job of keeping you dry and not sticking. And like the prior lines, they still breathe really well on those really hot days.
The pants are a great performance material with a ton of stretch in the waist, making them super comfortable. In fact, our own Bill Bush says that these might be the best golf pants he’s ever worn. To add to that, I have to say the waistband on both the shorts and pants might be the best I’ve seen in terms of flexibility, while still fitting well to your body. Oh yeah, and they breathe really well so they’re perfect for Spring golf. A+ on the pants and shorts.
Lastly, is Original Penguin’s 50s Track Jacket. The material here is something very unique. The only way to describe it is like a soft foam or neoprene material. With that, it’s super soft and comfortable. It’ll keep you warm enough, but not overly warm so that you can’t wear it during springtime. My only gripe here is that stitching on the shoulders make them somewhat large and pointy, and almost give it a “shoulder pad” look. Like the other Original Penguin gear, it’s more form fitting, but the cuff material on the sleeves and bottom of the jacket keep it in place while on the course. Overall, it’s a great looking jacket that’s different than your typical 1/4 zip or golf jacket, and adds a little style to your game.
Final Thoughts – Original Penguin Golf Spring Line
The Original Penguin Golf Spring line gives you a variety of flair or conservative designs that also perform well on the course. The clothes have a nice, tailored fit, that’s super comfortable, and most importantly, offer breathability and performance to get you through a full day of golf.
