Rickie Fowler Ranked #1 on “Best-Mannered People List”

“On Tuesday, the NLJC named Fowler No. 1 in its annual list of the “Ten Best-Mannered People.”

Fowler was honored “for consistently well-mannered conduct both on and off the golf course,” the NLJC news release said.

He finished ahead of Aly Raisman, Deshaun Watson, Joanna Gaines, Sadie Robertson, David Beckham, Selena Gomez, Thomas Rhett, Matt Kuchar and Meghan Markle.

“The selections are made based on each person’s commitment to honor, dignity, and mannerly conduct,” NLJC President Charles Winters said in the news release. “We feel these ten individuals have distinguished themselves through excellence of character and conduct and applaud them for their contributions to society.”

The year before, Rory McIlroy finished seventh on this list.

I’m not going to try and hide it:  I love Rickie Fowler (or “Richard” as we here at DRH like to call him).  The kid has mad game on the course, and I love watching him play.  Most of all, I think he’s even better with his fans, particularly the young ones.  Kids look up to him, and you can’t go to a tournament without seeing a kid “dressed like Rickie.”  Heck, my cousin was a long-time hater of Fowler, but after seeing how he interacts with his fans at tournaments, has been converted into one of his biggest fans.  I mean, he even let me get his kid a Rickie uniform for Christmas.

Not only do fans love him, but it seems like he’s everyone’s best friend on Tour.  The guy is always popping up on other players’ Snapchat stories or Instagram posts.  Arnold Palmer was his biggest fan.  Shoot, he’s even besties with Tiger.  He just seems like a fun guy to be around, and it’s no surprise he won this award.  Hats off to you, Richard, and keep doing your thing.  The folks here at DRH love you too.
