Get to Know Scott Readman Concepts

We reviewed Scott Readman Concepts putter covers last week so today we wanted to give you a little more of an introduction to the brand itself.  Enjoy.

Scott Readman Concepts

I first stumbled across Scott Readman Concepts somewhere around early 2014.  What started as a fascination with these unique looking putters and covers made in England quickly turned into SRC becoming one of my favorite brands in the game.  Ever since, I’ve tried to do my part in spreading the good word about SRC and have been so lucky to as develop a close relationship with everyone behind the brand.  While I love all of these people dearly, I also stand behind their products 100%.  I constantly rave over Scott Readman Concepts because they legitimately make some of the best gear in the business.

About the Brand

To find Scott Readman Concepts, you have to travel through the rolling hills of Bristol, England to a small workshop in a place called “Trubody’s Yard” (possible tie to my own family, not a big deal).  In their little shop you’ll find three people feverishly grinding away making everything from bespoke putter covers to hammer-peened high-end custom putters and wedges.

Scott Readman founded his company in 2009 following decades in the golf world.  After getting his feet under him, Scott was then joined by his right-hand woman, Emma Chislett (also an expert timezone/text message manager).  A few years later, the SRC team moved into their current home and added seamstress wizard, Corinna, to the team to keep up with the growth of the brand.

Summarizing the “essence” of Scott Readman Concepts is difficult.  Every SRC product is meticulously poured over with crazy obsessive attention to detail.  Never one to be content, SRC is always looking for new exotic materials and different ways to set themselves apart from the rest of the industry.  This is especially evident in the Dragonfly putter as well as the “hot air balloon” cover in the slideshow below.  Or how about vintage cork?  Yes, headcovers made out of cork… (See above)

SRC’s high-quality work has gained attention from peers in the industry such as legends James Ingles and Gene Nead that have also led to great collaborations between the brands.  Based on what I understand, Scott Readman Concepts is just getting started with cool industry collaborations alongside some pretty big names.

The Products

Right now the Scott Readman Concepts product range consists of a handful of different putter models and a wide range of putter covers, headcovers, alignment stick covers, pouches, and wedges.  As mentioned before, all of these products stand out due to their unique designs, materials, and exceptional quality.  Of course, not everyone is looking for a crazy loud custom/bespoke putter cover.  SRC has this crowd covered with their stock offerings that are still unique and high quality, with a touch of style that sets them apart from their competition.  Check out the SRC website here to have a gander through everything they currently have to offer.

Scott Readman Concepts Around the World

I’m not too ashamed to admit that I get a certain sense of excitement whenever the opportunity arises to tell someone about whatever crazy putter cover  I have in my bag or the putter unlike anything my playing partners have seen.  When I tell them they were custom made for me all the way across the Atlantic ocean in a small shop in England called “Scott Readman Concepts,” people typically want to know more.  My next line is usually something like, “yeah, this company is really coming up and starting to show up in the bags of some serious big name golfers all over the globe.”

Over the last couple of years, custom SRC covers have been in the bags of Master Champion Danny Willett, Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter, and three-time Major Champion Padraig Harrington.

Some killer bespoke SRC covers have been in the bags of Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Andy Sullivan, and Tommy Fleetwood amongst others.  Euro Tour star, Chris Wood, is even rocking a full set of SRC headcovers out on Tour.

The best though?  Eddie Pepperell carried a custom SRC bag on Tour.  To date, this is the thing I’m most jealous of.

The Future

As of writing this post, there are a lot of HUGE plans in store for my friends over at Scott Readman Concepts.  Everything from new putter models, custom wedges, new Tour/Blogger staff members, and even more exotic materials for a whole range of different products, including some they don’t currently offer.  Don’t be surprised over the next couple of years when you start seeing the Scott Readman Concepts name popping up in a lot more places around the globe.  In the meantime, head over to their website and look around.  If you have something in your head, chances are they can (and will) make it for you.
