HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., – In an exciting announcement made by the PGA of America on Monday, Srixon’s Keegan Bradley is set to become the next Captain for 2025’s United States team in the popular U.S. versus European team event held at the famed Bethpage Black in New York.
After earning his PGA TOUR card in 2011, Bradley found success quickly, winning the HP Byron Nelson Championship and soon after the 2011 PGA Championship in a three-hole playoff. Bradley became only the third player to win a major in his first attempt.
Since that victory, Bradley has tacked on four more PGA TOUR wins to his resume and now adds Captain in the largest team event in golf. He becomes the 31st U.S. Captain since the event began in 1927.
“My passion and appreciation for golf’s greatest team event have never been stronger. This event is unlike any other competition in our sport,” Bradley said. “This edition will undoubtedly be particularly special given the rich history and enthusiastic spectators at this iconic course. I look forward to beginning preparations for 2025.”
Bradley’s previous experience as a player includes two appearances. He made his debut in 2012 at Medinah Country Club in Illinois and 2014 at Gleneagles in Scotland. He went 4-3-0 in the two events, proving his ability to perform under pressure and contribute to the team’s success.
The U.S. versus European event showcases the best golfers from both sides, with a storied history of intense competition and unforgettable moments. Bradley will have the opportunity to guide the U.S. team to victory and reclaim the title after the team’s most recent loss at the 2023 event in Rome.
Srixon congratulates Keegan on this tremendous honor and looks forward to seeing him in this new role. Bradley currently plays a mixed bag of Srixon and Cleveland Golf equipment:
- Srixon ZX5 Mk II Irons (3i–5i)
- Srixon ZX7 Mk II Irons (6i-PW)
- Cleveland Golf RTX ZipCore Wedges (52°, 58°)
- Srixon Z-STAR DIAMOND
