Takomo Ignis D2 Launch

Takomo Expands the Ignis Driver Family With the D2

Takomo is expanding its Ignis driver family with the introduction of the D2, a 460cc model built around forgiveness, easy launch and straightforward adjustability.

Following the Ignis D1, which established Takomo in the driver category, the D2 gives the Finnish brand a different proposition at the top of the bag. Rather than chasing a particular shot shape or introducing a more complicated fitting story, the new model is centred on high launch and consistent spin, with enough adjustability to help golfers dial in the flight that works for their swing.

Available in 9° and 10.5° lofts, the D2 combines an HST160C high-strength titanium alloy body with a lightweight carbon-fibre crown. The driver has been engineered to help keep the ball in the air for longer and maximise carry through high launch and consistent spin, while the full-size profile provides the forgiveness and confidence expected from a 460cc head.

A large part of the D2’s versatility comes through its eight-position hosel sleeve. Loft can be adjusted by up to two degrees in either direction, alongside a series of upright settings, giving golfers greater scope to fine-tune launch and lie without changing the underlying character of the head.

Head weighting adds another element of configurability. A 2g weight is fitted in the head, with an 8g alternative also available, providing another way to adjust the overall setup.

Visually, the Ignis D2 stays deliberately restrained. A black PVD finish is paired with dark and cool-grey detailing, keeping the look clean at address and consistent with the understated design language used throughout Takomo’s wider equipment lineup.

Takomo is also offering the D2 with a selection of Fujikura Ventus shafts as standard. Ventus Red is available in 5R and 5S configurations, while Ventus Blue is offered in 5R, 5S, 6R, 6S and 6X, giving golfers a range of weight and flex options to suit different swing speeds and launch preferences.

Priced at $329, the Ignis D2 builds on the foundation set by the D1 with a driver focused on easy launch, forgiveness and adjustability, while keeping the clean design and straightforward approach that have become increasingly familiar across Takomo’s metalwood range.
