Tour Edge Exotics E721 Irons
Tour Edge introduced their new VibRcor and Diamond Face 2.0 technology in their Exotics 721 irons to great success. The player’s distance C721 irons utilized this tech and were an immediate hit out on the Champions Tour as well as with amateur golfers. For more mortal players looking for more forgiveness, there is also the Tour Edge Exotics E721 irons which have the same technology but in a game improvement shape for extreme forgiveness and distance. Simply put, the E721 irons were some of the easiest-to-hit irons I’ve ever tried in my life.
The Looks
Overall, the Tour Edge Exotics E721 irons look very similar to the C721 irons with clean lines and minimal branding. That said, the E721 is still an extreme game improvement club and has the traditional characteristics you would expect to find in GI irons. For instance, the toplines are thicker, the overall size of the club head is larger, and there is notable offset. However, Tour Edge does a great job blending the hosel’s offset into the heel of the head as best they can. The toplines are a little more rounded so as to give the club a cleaner look at address. Though a larger club head for sure, the E721 still looks good behind the ball and should induce confidence.
How Does it Feel?
VibRcor is a Tour Edge proprietary TPU material injected into the club head that impacts the feel as well as the sound of the E721 irons. This material is injected both directly behind the face and in the deep undercut cavity of the club. As a result, the cavity is still significant, but the feel is solid and smooth like a good forged cavity-back iron. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t mistake it for a buttery blade, but the overall feel is very clean, smooth, and powerful.
That powerful feeling comes from the Diamond Face 2.0 technology. There are 103 diamond shapes behind the club face made of three different varying thicknesses. These diamonds help make the face faster by allowing Tour Edge to reduce the face thickness by 21%. As such, the diamonds act as mini trampolines and increase ball speeds for more distance. Additionally, they make the clubs sweet spot larger while also improving distance and control in mishits.
How Does it Sound?
For an extreme game improvement iron, honestly, the Tour Edge Exotics E721 irons sound really good. The sole isn’t super thick so you get a little more slide through the turf and less “thump”. As a result, the sound from the turf interaction is a nice “whisp” on a good swing. Take a little more grass than you wanted and it might have a little “tear” in the sound. If you dig it too deep, which the club will do it’s best to help prevent, then sure, you’re going to hear a little thicker “chunk”.
Face impact results in a very clean “thwap” across most of the face. There is a lot of jump in the sound and is easily one of the better tones you’ll find in this area of the game improvement market.
On-Course Performance
One of the longest and most forgiving irons I’ve ever hit. It’s as simple as that. Where to even begin? First, Tour Edge put extra weight in the toe of the club toward the sole. This elongates the sweet spot of the club, which when paired with the Diamond Face makes the face extremely forgiving. The “360-degree undercut” cavity also helps with the E721 irons’ forgiveness by allowing more face flex as well as making these irons easy to launch throughout the entire set.
It’s worth noting as well that the E721 irons are power lofted. This means each number iron has a stronger loft than it normally would. The stronger lofts paired with the lower and deeper center of gravity work together to create a powerful lifting flight with plenty of carry for longer distance. I understand that “traditionalists” aren’t crazy about stronger lofts in modern golf clubs, but you have to consider who these clubs are geared toward. The Exotics E721 irons are specifically designed for players looking for easier to achieve distance and control. With options starting at a 19Âş 4 iron through a sand wedge at 56Âş, you will be able to easily address all your yardage gaps.
Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Exotics E721 Irons
This generation of Tour Edge Exotics irons provides some of the best market coverage they’ve ever had. Better players that like a smooth playing distance iron but also want to manipulate shots with premium control will get along great with the C721. If you’re a player that wants to easily hit the ball long and straight with control and forgiveness, the E721 irons are it. In short, if you want a premium club and will take all the help you can get, the E721 irons will do the job.

I once had a tour edge driver years ago and was very happy with it. I bought a 7wood last year and thought the shaft was a bit stiff (don’t recall the exact shaft or flex), but no problem I gave it to one of the guys I play with all the time and just loves, As a matter of fact he loves it so much we hunted around and dound the #4 metal wood and he loves it. By the way he hits much further that me so the shaft flex for him was great.
I think it’s to bad that more shops don’t carry the Tour Edge line or if they do the selection is quite limited. Gotta be able to see and touch any club I might like to try. I just wouldn’t feel right about buying clubs from you just to try knowing they only have a 50% chance at best of staying in my bag.
I’d like to see the E721 irons but the only shop near me doesn’t have them.

Yeah, it seems like Tour Edge is getting harder and harder to find at shops that past couple of years because the demand has been crazy high due to their quality and better price points. Then add in the new supply chain struggles from the pandemic and it’s even harder to keep them in stock.
