TRUE linkswear All Day Ripstop

The new TRUE linkswear All Day Ripstop is one of their most comfortable shoes to date, and it’s also their most environmentally sustainable effort yet. I know I probably sound like a broken record with every TRUE linkswear review I do saying “it’s their most comfortable shoe yet”, but somehow this brand keeps raising the bar. Building off the TRUE Knit II foundation, the All Day Ripstop has an all-weather friendly upper made up of a temperature-regulating wool liner and a 100% recycled ripstop polyester shell. Whether trudging around in January Chicago snow, or walking 36 in July, the All Day Ripstop is ready for it.

The Looks

As it has come to be expected with TRUE linkswear, the All Day Ripstop has a great casual look for both on and off of the course. The moderate profile makes for a clean look whether wearing them out with your favorite pair of jeans or you’re pairing them with some comfortable shorts. Adding to the All Day Ripstop’s versatility is the wide color palette. TRUE linkswear offers the Ripstop in deep sea (pictured), charcoal, black, cloud white, olive, and “steel st grey”. A nice added touch is the speckled midsole and the “gum” outsole made out of recycled EVA and natural gum rubber.

Ladies, TRUE linkswear also released the All Day Ripstop with options for you! This shoe is available in women’s sizes in black, charcoal, cloud white, and steel st grey as well as powder blue and rose colorways.

Comfort Level

The TRUE linkswear All Day Ripstop features an “ergonomic, minimalist design” that feels more natural on your feet. In my opinion, this makes for a more comfortable walking experience (#EnjoytheWalk) as well as longer wear periods. While the 100% recycled polyester update upper is water and wind resistant, it is comfortable and breathable.

Note: the All Day Ripstop is not waterPROOF, but rather water resistant. This will keep your feet dry during rounds with early morning dew, but not necessarily a great first choice for playing in a heavy rain. The temperature regulating wool liner keeps your feet warm in cooler conditions, but will retain the heat rather than transfer it back in warm conditions. This will keep your feet cool and makes the All Day Ripstop one of TRUE’s best all-season options.

It’s also worth noting that the All Day Ripstop has TRUE linkswear’s signature transitional drop. It will also comfortably fit up to a EE foot width. That said, I would highly suggest going a half size smaller in this model for all foot types. I wear a size 11 (medium foot width) and a 10.5 is a comfortable “regular” fit for me.

On-Course Performance

I tend to wear my various TRUE linkswears for everything. I genuinely believe they are the best hybrid shoe by a mile in the golf industry. And I rarely find any of them to be a better fit for either golf or my off-course life. They really make perfectly balanced shoes and the All Day Ripstop is a perfect example.

TRUE utilized the same “Tour tested” outsole and tread that they use on the TRUE Knit II. I find this sole to be incredibly comfortable but firm enough to create a strong foundation for a higher-speed golf swing and the sole’s tread provides plenty of traction. The All Day Ripstop will be a regular walking option for me this season, especially for those brisk Spring and Fall rounds. Likewise, they have been an excellent “daily wearer” since they arrived due to their comfort and good looks.

Final Thoughts – TRUE linkswear All Day Ripstop Shoe

One area we didn’t cover in great detail during this review, but deserves to be discussed, is TRUE linkswear’s journey to be more sustainable. In recent years, TRUE has replaced cardboard shoe boxes with reusable shoe bags for all of their shoes. They’re also working toward implementing sustainability in the shoes themselves by using renewable materials. The All Day Ripstop is TRUE linkswear’s second model to use such recycled materials and more will be on the way. Through literally years of testing, TRUE carefully selected renewable materials to utilize throughout the entire shoe. The quality is there in the All Day Ripstop, and it’s nice to help the planet at the same time!
